Feel the same way though still on fence on when getting and going for the PS5. Still life in PS4, a lot of good games out there and coming...still have AC: Odyssey to finish, Ghost of Tsushima a month a way.....I could honestly see me getting this early next year months after the PS5 is released and after all the money grabbing, pandemonium, mad rushing, greedy buyers with half just buying it to re-sell. Origins and Odyssey look awesome on the PS4 and I can't imagine how this will look on the PS5.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

This is coming out on November 17th.

Gameplay Overview Video:

30 minute Walkthrough:

I think it looks really good. I like the settlement building. I just hope it's not as long as Odyssey.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I was already sold on the entire concept of Vikings vs England along finding out you'll have a Raiding Party and able to Build and construct your own settlement. That 6 minute Gameplay Overview solidified that.....With Origins and Odyssey you snuck in and took out one-by-one to gain control....here you're leading a Raid Team...you pick and recruit....to assault a fortress. You work, heal, fight along and even help carry the loot. The Dual Weld is the biggest change to fighting as shown you'll have a unlimited possibility combos. Now to figure if get day one or wait till the dust settles a bit on the frenzy of getting a PS5 and try then.....and Far Cry 6 hits mid February....

I'm willing to bet it'll be just as long, if not longer.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

This is the game I’m most looking forward to for the remainder of the year, hands down. The last two AC games have been stellar, with Origins being in the top 3 all time for me.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I've been playing a bunch of open world games lately but I'm still super excited for this one. And I got it for free with the purchase of my new motherboard.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and preorder this for $50 at Amazon or wait for it to drop in price after two months to $29.99.

i regret not finishing Odyssey, yet. i will of course as i was loving it. even have Origins, but this will definitely get priority, even if still finishing Control. no, wait, i take that back. i'll try to finish and then this def gets priority. i know Cyberpunk will be a cluster fuck, so even though have preordered, not that excited ttt. but, haven't played an open world in a while...

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I bought Origins a few weeks ago, but I haven't started it yet. I might as well play it while waiting for a price drop on Valhalla.

I might change my mind, but at least for now, I’ve decided to wait.

Like you said, the price will undoubtedly fall off a cliff quickly. Other open world games coming out around that time have caught my eye more, like Cyberpunk and Watch Dogs, and I get burnt out if I play too many of those close together.

I am 100% certain I’ll play it at some point next year, though.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Getting it day one....having finished Ghost of Tsushima...while still have some in Origins and Odyssey to do...I think this one will be more involved with the Settlement Building and Raids. the History Setting with Vikings and Medieval Europe is perfect...add in a Dual Weld Combat System Valhalla will be a great time. Sorry...don't see this dropping in price no time soon being it'll be on Current and Nex Gen, maybe $5-$10 come Holidays but there's several Nex Gen Titles being pushed back.....I have this and Outriders and that's it unless I see the Last of Us part 2 up for a good sale and then add it...

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Day 1 for me as well... that said, I've got so many hours in Odyssey and not even close to wrapping it up. I really only want to finish the main story and kill all the Cultists; not 100% the game.

I know this isn't exactly apples-to-apples with previous Assassin's Creed games with its later release in the year, but Odyssey was on sale for $30 by Black Friday 2018 and down to $20 the following February. (Not counting eBay or digital storefronts, which dropped more steeply and sooner.) It's coming out so close to Black Friday this year that I don't know if we'll see something that drastic (maybe $40 instead?), but it's hard for me to imagine it not being on sale for $20-$30 before, say, April.

Yea that's me and as much as I like Odyssey and all, it's been overwhelming with all the missions and side quests from one location to another. When I got, played and finished Ghost of Tsushima, i felt that was about right with amount of content while at the same time feeling like i was actually progressing and accomplishing something. I'm going to "Hope"...Valhalla is not as bogged and overwhelming as Odyssey....I'm more intrigued about the Settlement Building and conducting Raids thru a picked team. I really liked a feature in Ghost of Tsushima where you would rescue some prisoners and then let others in a "Fort"...and it was sometimes 10-16 AI's battling each other with katana swords and bows....it was pretty wild and intense so I'm curious as to see if this will be along those lines instead of being basically alone tackling a Outpost and Fort like in Origins and Odyssey.

Yeah, I will buy the base game but not the Gold Edition. I doubt I would ever even get to the DLC. I never did with Odyssey.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I’m going full boat on this one. Not sure why, but seemed to like everything that was included. I won’t get to it either anytime soon, but will be glad to have it all. Haven’t even finished Odyssey, but was loving it...

Now that's just taking the fun out of it, watching the first full hour of play.
