Round 2 was the same for me, but slower. Eventually I got one in my cart, was allowed to check out and then it kept failing at the last step. Fun!

Though, to be fair, I've gotten that warning before and items still came in fairly non-descript cardboard boxes. If you looked closely, they'd still have item info on them, but I doubt they're saying it's going to be the plain retail packaging visible to thieves
... Right?

Yeah people are saying they have had that warning with other items and got it in a regular box. I didn't have to sign for a FedEx Xbox today when delivered.

I received mine earlier today via FedEx. It was shipped with a regular box. It mentioned Target on the shipping label (Target logos with no text are on the side of the box and the packaging tape if you want to count that). No signature required as the driver just left the shipment by the front door.

I stayed up and tried Target last night. Got the PS5 in my cart but then had the problem where it wouldn't let me select my payment method. This morning I ended up getting a bundle through costco.com. Hopefully it shows up eventually; I really just need it by xmas.

It's amazing that I got my 4 games from Best Buy, my controller charging station, extra controller and media remote. However, Amazon dropped the ball on actually delivering my console today. I guess I can put the game in front of my tv and pretend to play it with my extra controller. Thanks, Amazon!

Just got an "In Stock" alert for the digital edition at Walmart.com

Progress. Walmart take 3: this time I got one in my cart instantly and then the site never let me click on my cart to begin checkout.

Simply can't get past checkout. One I'm about to pay for the item, it tells me is sold out. Seriously, I can't believe that one of the biggest retailers in the world can't fucking handle the traffic they get.

There's 3000 listing for the PS5 console on ebay. This whole thing has been tilted towards resellers with bots. Fuck them all.

Well, our site can't handle everybody checking at once, so we'll split it up to four different times, so there's only 25% of the traffic each time! Genius!!!

I’ll get one when I get one. I’m really in no rush for it though. I figure it’ll probably be at least a year if not more before I get one.

My package has been delayed twice from the same city three hours apart. I find it unbelievable that Amazon logistics doesn't have more exact information as to the status of an item, especially a high priced item. I'm afraid that our consoles are ripe for picking by criminal employees with Amazon simply shrugging their shoulders and offering up a refund. I find it all to be a little bit more than just bullshit. I'm more than a little disappointed at the moment. Mine was in Oklahoma City at 1:30 this morning to be delivered by 10 tonight and it has been delayed twice in transit from OKC and is supposedly still there.

True story, that's an original full size NES for scale:

I can almost guarantee thats what is happening. I've had too many Amazon orders suffer the same fate.

I've set up both systems now and the size was way overblown on both of them. I was expecting some giant monstrosities and the PS5 is about the same size as most VCRs i owned.

I have never, ever had an Amazon package disappear. Not to say it can't happen, but to think some delivery person will lose a job over a $500 gaming machine is a bit absurd. Especially with the state of employment in general at this time.

I just had a $2000+ 300 pound treadmill get lost during shipping last month from Amazon so it can happen no matter the size.

Yeah, the cardboard box arrived and I thought it was a different package. I was expecting something far larger.

That being said it's still pretty fucking big. Here's my photo uncropped with the collection for size:
