But if the Sony ones have something, anything extra (or if they don’t charge me sales tax) that would be worth getting it through them instead.
Am I still the only person here who got an email invite? I don’t know what I should do with this opportunity... Spoiler:

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I managed to score one on the 9pm Walmart restock. According to the email they sent I won’t get it until 11/23 though. Now I need to run down a Series X.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
And at the 4th attempt at Wal-Mart.... I was able to score one!!! Took around 9 minutes to check out and several tries on the app, but it finally went through and got a confirmation number. Will get it by November 25th according to the site. Man, what a relief!

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I think I got fucked. My Amazon order showed as delivered this morning. I made arrangements to be home all day for the delivery and sat within earshot of the door. I did not see the Amazon update notice until a couple hours after it claims to have been delivered, and alas there was no package when I checked the front porch. Amazon won't do anything unless it doesn't show up after tomorrow. I called UPS and they showed it to have been delivered. They called the driver and he said he left the package by the front "red" door. I have no red door, and let them know.
They then sent him back to my house and I happened to be in the front yard and spoke to him. He claims to have left the package on the chair by my front door (which is far too small to hold a package the size I assume it to be) and knocked before he left. I told him I had been home all day waiting, and there was NO knock on my door. There's absolutely no way I could have missed it... the dogs go apeshit when there is a knock at the door. They claim they will GPS track it and contact me tomorrow, but I'm sure I'm screwed. |

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I will not have confidence that my PS5 is going to get here until it actually arrives. It has been delayed in transit twice from OKC this afternoon/evening. How does that happen?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Delivery to my work is not an option, but I'll likely be home all day tomorrow if mine shows as out for delivery by then. I have a camera out front, so hopefully no driver fuckery, but cams don't stop thieves following right behind them, who are clever enough to hide their faces.

I can't believe those fuckers would have the nuts to grab it off the porch with cars in the driveway and in full view of neighbors. God, I wish I could have caught him doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...97cb608d06.jpg |

I fear that may be the case. I was ready and waiting to scoop it off the porch, but the fucker never knocked. I always get a knock on delivery... but not this one time, sigh. I guess I should have been checking every few minutes.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I mean you have the Series X on Tuesday, the PS5 today, and the iphone 12 mini/pro max tomorrow. What a week for porch pirates.

The driver never dropped it off at your house. He probably drove by, noticed your door was closed and no one was outside your house and saw that you didn't have an outdoor camera - so he went with the story of knocking and dropping it off, hoping you'd blame a porch pirate and just taking it home.

I wouldn’t rule that out either. He was a young kid probably early 20’s, and he seemed a bit nervous when I was talking to him. I told him that he did NOT knock on the door even though he repeatedly stammered that he did so.

Yeah but they are talking outright theft. I doubt your treadmill got stolen. Something got screwed up clearly. But to claim delivery drivers are jacking packages is a bit absurd, IMHO.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I would be very nervous for those of you having this delivered to your house and it not requiring a signature. Right now, so many are unemployed and thieves are out in full force probably well aware that $500 PS5 units are being delivered. I'm sure Prime vans and UPS trucks are being followed and cased everywhere.

Holy shit. PS5's are going as high as $2,000 on EBay. Fucking savages. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Most sold on eBay are between $800 and $1300. One outlier at $14k, but I'd bet that falls through.
Still ridiculous... but scalpers gonna scalp. |
