I thought they came out on the 12 here as well and I called about my preorder and it turns out the Uk is getting them next tuesday. It gives me time to actually open the Series X so thats a plus. I hope everyone in the Us on here is able to get one easily.

Something wonky going on with Target... that popfindr site was showing a couple dozen at most of my nearby locations before they went on sale. Now it shows the same locations with only 1-5 less than the original numbers. Like they sold a couple from each store, and kept the rest.

edit: it's going down slowly now. Probably just processing all the orders.

I was monitoring several places, and Target was the first one to show stock at about 1:40 AM. I had the same issue with checking out at Target though.

I was also in queue at Sony Direct since a few minutes before midnight though. I didn't even know that they were going to have any tonight, but Wario64 posted the link, and suggested getting in queue. Within a minute or two of giving up at Target, the chimes went off on my Sony Tab, and I was able to get through and place an order with free 1-2 business day shipping.

So I won't have it tomorrow, and if I'm not lucky, I may not even have it by the weekend, but I'm happy.

I had to go back and order Miles Morales, a second controller, and a charging station after I was sure it went through though.

I'm going to bed now, best of luck to anyone who's still hunting. Hope you guys are able to find something. I'm hearing that Costco may have bundles with Miles Morales and a second controller, but I don't know when they're putting them out.

^^^this was also my exact experience. Except I didn't enter the queue until about 1:45, and I got a tip that you could bypass the queue by stopping the page before it re-directed to the queue, so was able to get in quickly. Wanted the digital, but was panic-clicking and order the disc version, which is fine... already "Preparing to Ship"...

My Walmart order went directly from Preparing to Ship to Out For Delivery. Horrible order update system but looks like I'll have mine today.

Looks nice. Won't stick out any more than my Xbox One S does in my setup. In fact, it will be taking its place.

It seems that there is a shortage. No store has it in stock as of now and it seems that availability will be sporadic throughout the Christmas season.

No idea if that inventory is accounting for in store pickup, but the things aren't even on sale in store yet. Even if they don't include in store pickup orders already allocated, ome stores may show dozens (and I don't see any digital either) but may also have to save some stock for black Friday.

I spoke with the regional manager at Target this morning and one of the top managers at Best Buy in NC yesterday and both of them confirmed that they aren't receiving right now more that what was pre-ordered. Whatever they receive for Black Friday will probably get to the stores either next week or days before BF.

Curious to know just how accurate that is. I remember using something similar when hunting for a Switch, and it was wildly inaccurate.

Yeah, the link although helpful is somewhat inaccurate. My local target says they have 7 left. That's not the case.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I had a similar Target experience. When they went live I was able to get one in my cart immediately, but then got stuck in the payment verification loop, despite having a card saved to my account that I’ve used for a while now with no previous issue. So, no joy there for me.

I’ve still got my preorder that’s allegedly preparing to ship, but I’ll believe it when I see it. I think if the digital version comes back up at PlayStation Direct I might take a stab at that.

More just went up on Best Buy, but it seems like they're already out.

All sites will suck until they find a way to deal with bots, which generally were never an issue for electronics in the past.

Did anyone get a shipment notification or anything for their VR adapter?

This is the big issue right now. Bots are basically taking most of the inventory. There are right now over 2000 listings for PS5 consoles on ebay, all of them selling for $900 or more. Is this what Sony and all these stores wanted? Is fucking ridiculous that things have now gotten to this point where bots are basically killing the business for any hot collectible/item/toy. Until stores don't deal with bots, shit will be like this.

My local Target has 6 in stock... however, they aren't releasing them until tomorrow. :(

Just got shipping notification from Target, although the tracking number does not show up on Fed Ex yet. Still showing a Wednesday delivery date. Hoping for sooner, obviously.

Even before bots, though, console launches were a crapshow. Bots definitely made the problem worse, but even mighty Amazon would buckle in years past.

I'm just glad I don't collect shoes.

That doesn't make any sense. Today is launch date. Why would they hold them off till tomorrow?

Try getting a limited edition Mondo poster. It's become impossible.

As for console launches, I don't remember being this bad before. Or even being bad at all. I've always been able to get every Playstation console at release date from pre-orders without any issues whatsoever.

By the way, Gamestop really wants to drive people away. They made the PS5 available for a while but only as a bundle.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, no problems getting PS3 at launch. Pre-orders for PS4 were a cinch after the E3 presser. Camped out for a Wii at Target. Line was around the building yet everyone still got one. Went an hour or two early to Sam's for a 360. No issue there either.

With more people ordering online this year it's definitely making it harder with all the resellers & bots.

Console just showed up. Still no update on the MM order. It still shows Preparing to Ship on Walmart.com.
