Same.
I've looked around almost daily for almost a year now, to no avail. Think I'll stop now.

On the "bright" side by the time it's readily available the software should be a lot more mature... I don't think I can point to one next gen game that has just blown me away so far.

Returnal for me.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yup.

Returnal was the gorgeous 3rd person 3d Metroid that I needed in my life. Ratchet and Clank's dimension jumping was no slouch either, especially if you try to follow it up with R&C 2016.

But mostly, this gen seems to be about achieving stable 60 fps and frankly it's worth it. (YouTube video in spoiler).

Spoiler:

Silky Smooth! Ratchet and Clank defaults to 30 fps and turns on some features that make it look really stunning, and offers 40 fps, but the 60 fps mode in that is also where it's at.

It's a legit email from Sony letting me know that I can hop in line at 2pm tomorrow and have a chance to get a PS5... but I'm not going to do it. I don't need one until Horizon:FW comes out next year, so I can wait.

This might very well be your best chance to get one before Horizon FW comes out so why not get it now if you can? I bought mine through that email and it was super-easy and without a forced bundle at all.

I mentioned earlier this week that I’d gotten that email, clicked through at the designated time, and waited in the queue for hours before giving up. Well, I gave up in the sense that I wrote it off as not going to happen, but I left the browser tab open, and the next morning it was inviting me to add the console to my cart. I completed the purchase, got an order confirmation, a notice of shipping delay, then a shipping notice with an expected arrival of Monday. I guess I still won’t quite believe it till it shows up, but it seems to have worked for me. :fc:

All y'all convinced me to at least log in and see what happens.

If I were to have the shot at getting one, I'm not sure that I would keep it. I have a few friends in the area that have been wanting one so maybe I can sell it to them at cost. I don't want to be that guy who tries to take advantage of the situation.

Wish me luck.

Okay... I was in the queue for 22 minutes before it dinged and was able to get one (the $500 one... I'd want the disc drive).

Now just to sit back and wait for it to be delivered... and since I was a PS+ member, shipping was free. :)

Yeah good to hear. If you wanted one, I couldn't see any reason to wait. It's not gonna be cheaper in February, or easier to find.

It's a shame MS doesn't have a nice first party direct distribution system like this. Everyone criticizes Sony for PS5 scarcity but I think this Sony Direct is a pretty great way to distribute a limited supply.

Don't they with the MS Store? Granted they don't do like limited access campaigns like Sony does, but they do distribute it themselves...

It's gone in seconds. And the time isn't announced in advance. They do distribute, but it's not the same and it's not nearly as easy.
The Sony system is designed to limit access and reward their loyal customers who are PS Plus members first. I've been an XBL Gold member consistently since 2002, they gave me nothing.

Since my controller that came with the system is screwed up, the year's warranty should cover fixing or replacing it correct? I finally found a PS5 Controller for sale. It is the cosmic red one. I don't really care for the color, but beggars can't be choosers.

Yes. It has a one year warranty.

As I’ve said before, I would vastly prefer to upgrade my bricked OBO instead of my PS4, and I’ve been Gold for years and am now on Game Pass Ultimate. I’m not PS+. But Sony let me get the new console.

I received and setup my PS5 today... easy breezy. Was a bit surprised how big it actually is.

And there will be a physical release of Kena in a few months!

I have zero emails from Sony.

No idea how to get one.

But I made this!
