I played a demo at Best Buy today. They gave me some swag including a MUA3 keychain and Mario sunglasses for trying it.
Looks better than the trailer indicates. Has a mild cell shading and looks pretty good - at least your team does. Enemies are pretty generic and fall back in unison after being hit. Vocal work is fine.
Looking forward to this.

I want to save my voucher buying until a little later in the month, but I want to make sure: there's no preorder bonus digitally for this game at all, right?

Mike Fahey is pretty high on it in his Kotaku review. I usually agree with most of his reviews.

My main take away after playing for a few hours tonight, for the most part, more of the same as the other UA (which is good), with one big exception: the camera -- at least in couch co-op -- is unforgivably bad and really sucks the fun out of the game at times.

I’m bummed that it sounds like playing in handheld is not great, because that’s how I play 99.9% of my games on Switch.

I played about 2 hours solo so far and have had no camera issues so it might just be a co-op thing.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (7/19/2019: Switch)
I’ve been having a lot of fun with this playing solo over the past several days. The camera has only been an issue a couple times, with enemies entering from a direction and the camera getting caught on something or moving behind something when it shifts to track them. I will say, I can’t imagine playing this on handheld. There’s just too much on the screen and the characters are too small, and I know I would have trouble tracking my character.
I’m not sure how long the replay value will last. I think I’m about 70% of my initial playthrough, but have been taking the time to do Infinity challenges as they become available. I can see working my way through most of those and doing several speed runs to level up more of my roster, but I’d guess I’ll get bored after 20 or so hours with the game. Still, not a bad value and lots of nostalgic fun for fans of the previous two MUAs.

Every alternate costume in the game simply being a minimum effort palette swap is such an embarrassingly lazy decision that it completely disincentives me from wanting to max out the Infinity Trials, considering those are supposed to be that mode's ultimate rewards.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (7/19/2019: Switch)
I finished it up today and I found the whole thing pretty mediocre. The RPG elements are pretty trivial. Even after ending the game with my main character at level 43 and maxing out all my abilities I never felt any more powerful. I found a rare attachment which gave me strength plus 1000 and it still would take me 15 or so hits just to kill fodder enemies. I almost never have any interest in "challenges" in games and the ones here were no different. I completed a couple but the rewards were so inconsequential it didn't make any sense to keep doing them.

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (7/19/2019: Switch)
I agree that the rpg elements are on the generic side, but leveling definitely makes a difference. With my lvl 43 team of Thor, Hulk, Iron Man & Cap, fodder enemies are three light attacks or two heavy on default difficulty, which is way more powerful than at the start of the game. The special, synergy and extreme attacks are all way more effective as well. Overall, I’m still enjoying it a lot as a beat ‘em up with a light rpg aspect. I’m still having fun jumping into infinity trials for xp cubes to level up other characters enough to be usable.
