Re: What Are You Playing? (July 2019)

At long last, I’ve fired up Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. I got it as a gift last November but have been too intimidated by the length to actually play it. Having a blast so far, though.

I have Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 preordered, and I’m sure at least one of those will make it into rotation before the month’s out.

NES Remix on the 3DS.

I've neglected the system for the past 3 years and it's time to catch up on what I missed.

Re: What Are You Playing? (July 2019)

The default difficulty is way too hard. Found out you have to start a new game to change difficulty WTF?!

Bought at Best Buy for $20 . Only got past the opening but liking what I've played. Graphics are beautiful and the combat system is fun. Kinda sad they removed the Pokemon aspect from the first game.

Thanks to Gamepass $1 deal I downloaded a bunch of games but settled on Forza. Fun to just jump into a quick race or two .

My main game. The game just seems too big to finish. I usually will just focus on the main quest but for some reason I have the urge to 100 % this game . And I still have yet to play Syndicate and Odyssey

Re: What Are You Playing? (July 2019)

I’m mostly trying to work through my backlog this month. Even though I know I won’t finish the majority of the games, I still feel better having played at least a little bit before I never touch it again.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Metro Exodus
Darksiders 3
Just Caise 4

And then there’s Slay the Spire on Switch. I can’t get enough of it. Probably my favorite game of the year so far.

Picked up where I left off over a year ago (05/24/2018) in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I’m at Calamity Ganon’s front door... I didn’t want it to end.

Now lets finish this.

Moved to my new house this past Sunday and after 4 years, I hooked up my PS3 again and started playing Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, a game that I never finished.

I like this game but the racing/chasing aspect drove me crazy in my first play through. Also having gotten used to the PS4 controller now, I can't believe how unbelievably bad the PS3 ones are. The analog are way sensitive and precision is really difficult. Size wise are too small too.

Dropped Ghost Recon, Metro, and Darksiders like they were radioactive.

Still chipping away at Just Cause. I like just messing around but the main missions aren’t great. I need to find some cheats or whatever to just unlock everything and play around.

Started Dragon Quest Builders 2 the other day. It’s pretty cool, like a Minecraft RPG.

Still playing Slay the Spire too. Such a perfect Switch game.

That's a shame about Wildlands, especially compared to JC. That was one of my favorite games from that year and I dumped over 60 hours into it.

Yeah, it's not that it was a bad game or that I didn't like it, but I was looking for something a little more arcady, and it wasn't scratching that itch.

Just Cause, on the other hand, turns out to be exactly what I was looking for. It's loud, fast, and pretty. Traversal feels really good. The things that blow up do so in a very satisfying way. Everything outside of the main story missions is really good, but unfortunately those have to be done in order to unlock better weapons and all that.

Also, I bought and installed Wildlands maybe two years ago at this point, and I started playing it more out of obligation to clear my backlog even though I knew going in that it probably wasn't what I really wanted to be playing. Same with Metro.

How are you liking it so far?

I started this a bit ago but my work schedule doesn't leave me with a lot of time for gaming.

It's been really nice to be able to jump in and out of this game when I can.
