Apparently, they have sold so few that it's on sale this week for $75. That never happened with any of the Nintendo classics.

Tempted, but I already moved to a Pi setup for N64 and PS1 games. The controller and firmware issues are deal breakers at any cost.

Do they? Of their three major recent releases I’d disagree. The Switch is plentiful and has been pretty easy to find since shortly after launch. The SNES Classic Edition was relatively easy to find upon release or was restocked shortly after the first batch sold out. The NES Classic Edition is now easily available. Nintendo screwed up that initial run of the NES Classic, but I don’t agree with your assessment that they underproduce everything. The 3DS has also been easy to find for ages and we all know Wii U’s sat on shelves.

Last weekend at Amazon it was $75 and came with a $25 giftcard. But still not worth it.

I was braving Best Buy on 12/23 and walked by a table with like 20 on it. A guy was looking at it and asked the salesperson "where's the thumbstick?" LOL.

Eagerly waiting to see now how low they have to go to clear these out. I'll take the two USB controllers for the right price.

Every store I go into has a ton of them. Sony really dropped the ball on this one.

Here in Canada, they are selling them for $80 which is cheaper than the SNES Classic. To be honest, I don't really feel the urge to buy this even when it's cheaper.

Target has it for $60 on their site and a 40% off cartwheel. So assuming you have them match their online price and use the cartwheel, it brings it down to $36.

You have to get a clerk who doesn't care though. They're not supposed to do a pricematch and a cartwheel together. I've been blocked on similar transactions many times.
