I own both AL products and they are great, but have some issues with FW updates. I use them mostly as portals for MAME and console emulation. The pinball is very nice. Happy with both purchases, I feel they are a TON better value than the A1UP machines.

I wouldn't hold my breath. At least at any sort of similar price point.
I wish the screen was better, but overall it's a very nice product. Sturdy, well made, looks good in the room* .
My son loves the machine and plays it a lot.

To anyone else that picked up the Simpsons, make sure you hop on your WiFi. I didn’t and was confused why the bowling game didn’t have sound. There’s a firmware update.

Re: Arcade 1UP

Without going through the whole thread what is the quality on these in general? I would really like Pacman or Mrs Pacman. I have read many reviews and a lot of them contradict each other. Some love others not happy.

Re: Arcade 1UP

I went ahead and got the Pac-Man 12-1. I want a riser, but wow, the Arcade1Up website wants $45 shipping for the thing. Not doing that.

Not really seeing them for sale anywhere else either.

I suppose I'll have to make one, grr...

Seems like some Walmarts have them clearanced for around $25, but it's always hard to track down 1Up deals there.

the term "man cave" reeks of emasculation. post content supports that. sadness.

The legend Dr Moze comes out of retirement to post, we shouldn't discourage him and I'm sure Decker can take a little ribbing.

I know this is a big YMMV, but I was just in a local Sam's Club and noticed they had the Legends Pinball machine on clearance for $510.

Re: Arcade 1UP

Lots of great deals going on, but the best appears to be at Kohl's again. Ridge Racer, T2, Simpsons with stool are $299 plus bonus 30% Kohl's cash on top of the 5% normal rewards.

Tron is on sale for $499, so $150 bonus Kohl's cash on top of the normal $25. XMen is $499 also.

Killer Instinct marked down from $700 to $300

People are using a coupon code SCOTTS1221 to bring the price down to $255.

I thought of the Simpsons one but it's just two games. I only have the MK one with the variety of games. Plus I'm not sure where I'd put it.

Re: Arcade 1UP

I really thought about the Simpsons game, too. I'm a huge Simpsons fan, but for something taking up that big of a footprint in our home, I would probably have to mod it to make it worth my while. At first glance, it's a very affordable 4-player machine and perfect to mod. But then there aren't many buttons for each player for all of the other games you could put on it.

I'd like a deal on the wall-mountable Defender partycade, Rampage, or Joust. All I want to do is play Gauntlet, Rampage, and Joust with my family!

Now $449 at Walmart <---- ETA: Looks like they sold out at the sale price, showing a different seller now.

It's definitely worth it for that price, plenty of fun family games. But I'm not sure why in the photos for the product, they show teens/young adults playing Candyland

Re: Arcade 1UP

Put together my $299 Terminator 2 cabinet over the weekend. Gameplay is perfect from what I've sampled. I swapped in some Logitech speakers (just plugs right into the audio out of the PCB board) with the subwoofer inside the cabinet. The other simple mod people are doing is to drill a hole or saw off the bottom of the gun cradle and feed in the wires to hide them, plus people are spray painting the guns black. Neither of those are super important to me right now, but I may tackle it over the winter.

Next up is Ridge Racer, then finally the Simpsons.

oh, they are arcade toppers that show all of the moves. I thought it would inspire me to play the fighting games more (hasn't yet). The toppers come with adhesive to stick to the back of the cabinet.

Here's a closer look:

Much closer look
