This game gives me the itch to play. I went out my normal time frame and actually played a little at 8pm. I never do that on school nights, but just felt like playing a little more...

This feels like a remake done right, it feels just like the original but plays a bit more modern. Playing the PC version on my laptop which is pretty well optimized.

Fun game. I had a blast watching my son play this over the weekend. He beat Leon's story on Saturday and Claire's on Sunday. We both jumped a bunch especially during the Mr. X stuff. The preorder gun kinda sucked because you cant upgrade it at all.

RE7 is great. Haven't played either EW game.

I didn't want to start a thread just to ask that. And I thought that since this is an RE thread, that some would at least have played RE7 or perhaps both games if they are a fan of horror.

I finished RE7 and Evil Within 1, but haven't played 2 yet. RE7 is really good. I also didn't know that Evil Within 2 had a first person mode since the first game did not.

They added this option roughly 4 months after the game came out.

Anyway, I decided to start with that!

man, i love this f-in game. the puzzles are so reminiscent of RE7, but harder. the action heart beating. the zombies slow moving but menacing nonetheless and the limited ammo makes it truly survival horror done right. it like gives you just enough, at least for me so early on. just addicting...

and i'm taking my time with this. bits and pieces here and there, some more on weekends, but virtually nothing during week. nice to find the save in the Main Hall pretty easy. i don't want this game to end anytime soon. my only problem is i'm barely finding the clues to solve the puzzles. i find the stuff (ammo, herbs, boards, etc.), but the important documents that clue you to solve the puzzles around the station i don't find. still loving this and blends all that i love in the 2 RE i've played in this franchise...

i swear this game gets better and better as it goes along. the sense of dread and claustrophobia in some areas and really going slow around corners bc you never know. and even when you have to backtrack, they can still (zombie) pop up anew. so great the design. i'm usually a no holds barred, go for broke, lots of ammo and weapons type guy, but with the "just enough" ammo and weapons they give you makes this true survival horror at it's best. i'm so glad i didn't play old incarnation or might have felt a little familiar at least. but, this is a whole new and wonderful game in the RE series...

Resident Evil 2 Player Spawns Two Mr. X Tyrants During Speed Run

man, getting out of that police station was rough. the zombies, lickers, that fucking Tyrant stalking you. makes me go so fast, yet you have to go slow sometimes. just hearing his footsteps on some other level is unsettling. have 3 guns now, but ammo so scarce. been lucky with health, but i still die, a lot. they should have had some melee option to at least not get bit, sometimes prompt for LB to stave off but i waste a flash grenade or actual grenade, if i have. eh, still so freaking good. can't wait to see what else is in-store.

anyone know how many chapters/missions this remake has?

anyone know how to delete one of two saved games? i just want to delete 1 of them and don't see option...

Oldboy to delete a save game go to Setting and go to Application Saved Data Management go to Saved Data in System Storage and Delete. You should see a list games you have save you can delete.

Beat Leon's campaign in about 7 hours.

It unlocked their classic costumes as an alternative and said I could play New Game 2nd Run with Claire. So guess that's next on the agenda.

Not sure what the difference is in playing a New Game as Claire or selecting the New Game 2nd run, but I suppose I'll eventually find out.

Aren't you armed with a knife by default or did they do away with that option?

If you choose second run its supposed to be harder and different enemy placement.

You get a knife a bit into the story and then you find them a lot throughout the game. But no, you don't get to melee with it. It's like a "save your ass card" that you plunge into them if they grab you and the knife will get damaged and break when the durability meter is wiped out, which is usually about 2 uses. Also unless you kill them, you're not getting that knife back after using it. You have to finish them off and then pick it off their corpse.

As for ammo, I was fully out multiple times through the game and had to run around things more often than taking them out. On the final boss, I was lucky the "drop" happened when it did, cause I had used up everything by that point and was just running in circles on the platform trying not to get hit. Fun game.

i really wish there was some kind of melee option (even just hands or shake off), but that is minor nitpick...

anyone know if way to delete a saved game?
