I was looking around for the trailer I posted above and off to the side saw one with "30 Minutes of Gameplay Demo, Developer Walkthru" that I haven't seen...well worth the look. Interesting on this and the trailer above all the negative comments...dull, boring, no story, repetitive, Destiny rip-off, it's EA and will suck,etc...just let the footage speak for itself....

Ok, I know I got flamed before, but this game looks amazing. The one video above started with only co-op or multiplayer, but also mentioned something you can do solo.

So, is there a single player campaign?

This looks so damn good. Maybe a little Destinyish, but damn looks good and the shooting and flying...

All the negative comments on this reference "it's a Destiny rippoff...clone...etc"....it's not even close. Destiny has only three characters, Anthem has four...and there's more... From what I've seen on the leveling system along with a skill tree, you'll have more options of fine tuning to your likes. Matchmaking will also be better. It sounds a lot like how The Plains in Warframe are now. A Level 10 can play with a Level 30 and enemies scale. You'll have main & side quests. I'm more curious about crafting, building, and the commerce side and what role it will have. The one in Destiny is a total disaster. Not sure what Warframe has would work but everything in in is always used. In game currency/credits would be another to look at. Still a lot of questions.....

That was a sort of ...Tongue-in-cheek humor poke...but to be fair, the Characters in Destiny have far more powers, had or have...not sure...can't keep track of them.

However, with the Javelins it is a bit different. Destiny, it's the "Character" that you pick, level, control. In Anthem, the player stays separate from the Javelin suit itself. I get the feel while the Javelins are the focus, there will be some personal ties & story around the character you create as well. In the video you are outside the Javelin suit interacting with NPC's.

As to the Javelins themselves, they have said they'll have a Skill Tree where say you want to be a Colossus but you want to be a bit less tanky and faster, you can. Want to be the Ranger but be more tanky, you can. Some missions will be better suited for a specific Javelin. And...I believe they are doing what Destiny and Warframe do where characters powers/abilities help & compliment each other. I saw "Combo" pop up during the end of the boss fight with that giant bug...was it with one Javelin or maybe two. In Warframe, one ability can buff another's ability so I wonder if they are going to incorporate that which would be cool.

But really, from the descriptions of how the gameplay works it sounds a bit like how other pseudo-MMO games work, a bit like Destiny or even Diablo where you can run around and do missions solo if you want but it can be more fun or helpful when other players hop in and play cooperatively. The single player story seems to unfold around the city hub of Fort Tarsis that players go back to after missions.

Sweet, I just started downloading the Alpha on XB1. Looks like it's two days only at certain times on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm in the Alpha after getting in, then getting booted. So far, seems pretty cool. Basically Iron Man + Destiny.

Yeah this has been pretty messy so far, even for an Alpha. I keep getting connection errors left and right. And it sucks since it's such a limited time Alpha.

Just got booted again. Froze up and kicked me. My god, the slow down. I hope to god they fix that. Game runs like absolute shit right now.

Edit: Back in but can't find a match at all. Matchmaking won't connect me with anyone.

Morning session done. It's decent. The area has quite the elevation to it, meaning you can dive down super far, even into water, but also go up high to cliffs and stuff. The world event stuff is no different than Destiny. Bosses spawn in areas, everyone teams up to take them out.
