With most of the big reveals out of the way, I think this was the biggest surprise for me this year at E3. Gives me a third person Destiny vibe.

I heard rumors of it before so it wasn't too big of a surprise to me, but it looks even better then I expected. It's also what the main Bioware studio worked on (with Andromeda going to Bioware Montreal) so i'm excited.

I feel like this is at least a year out though :(

Basically it's Halo meets Horizon Zero Dawn with a touch of Destiny and Titanfall it seems. The environments looked stellar. Got a full year but this holds some promise.

This may or may not indicate the direction of where the game might go but....


Mass Effect 1 and 2 Lead Writer Drew Karpyshyn is Working on BioWare’s New IP Anthem

Revealed at E3, Anthem is a new action RPG and a new IP from developer BioWare and publisher EA, and apparently renowned writer Drew Karpyshyn is working on it.

Drew Karpyshyn notably spent 12 years at BioWare, working as not only a writer but a designer on a variety of hallmark titles: such as the first two Mass Effect games, Baldur’s Gate, Jade Empire, and KOTOR. He left BioWare in 2012, but then returned back in 2015, revealing that he was coming back to work on The Old Republic.

Mass Effect 2, 3, and ANTHEM Designer Corey Gaspur Passes Away

Corey Gaspur, well known for his design work on Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age: Origins among other games, has passed away. BioWare shared the sad news of his passing on its official blog, which also mentions that Gaspur was working on the developer's upcoming sci-fi project, ANTHEM, as lead designer.

Gaspur had worked at BioWare for almost a decade, helping shape the combat, environments, and general gameplay of the aforementioned titles. Naturally, we extend our condolences to Gaspur's friends, family, and everyone at BioWare.

I hope they knock it out of the park with this one, but with Visceral closing recently and the negativity around Battlefront like the article mentions, I can see why the staff would be worried and under a lot of pressure to deliver for EA. Not surprising it wouldn't make it this year though.

Bummer to hear that other projects may be backburnered though.

To the surprise of absolutely fucking no one. I don't think for a second this thing ever had a chance of meeting a 2018 release.

I can't say I'm too surprised either. With the shit that went down with Battlefront II and Mass Effect failing last year, the last thing they want to do is fuck up the launch of a brand new IP. The smart thing would be to sit back for a bit, listen to the concerns that people have with Destiny 2 (since that is going to be their biggest competitor) and learn from those mistakes. At the end of the day if they have a game that is fun to play with plenty of content, the fans will be there.

Not surprised either, a bit disappointed yea but can't blame them for moving it further down the road. I think in this past year there were several highly anticipated games that came with high expectations which fell flat, were lackluster and weren't all they were built up to be. Plus the game already has a reference to a sort of Destiny & Titanfall hybrid and considering how Destiny is getting hammered, they're probably taking notes on what NOT to do along with what actually add that will work and keep players......

I was really impressed with what I sw. I think it's Gamespot or IGN that has a trailer out with 15-17 points of interest they caught involving the world, different levels of the suits...like one had a Level of 45 and one that dropped in was lower in the 30's. The four central playable "Javelins"...Ranger, Colossus, The Storm and Interceptor sound intriguing and seem to make up a typical squad in many co-op games....Assault, Heavy, Assassin and a "Mage/Healer?"


The world was something out of Avatar and details were impressive along with the particle efects. There will be weather elements as in one portion showed you have to fight and race thru a storm. The ability to fly is key as well as going underwater which apparentlty they are stressing to explored both as you get rewards for doing so. And loot is spread among the team also. I llike to hear and see more on the customization, collecting and if any crafting. There will be a skill tree to where you can change the attributes of the Javelins. You can makes say the Colossus a bit less tanky and faster but sacfrifice armor. Be interesting to see just how in deth your options will be. Really looked good.....
