I miss those times too! I mean I did make a lot of new friends outside the daggers once we lost our numbers in D1 just to sustain my habit, but I always enjoyed pulling everyone through, even when it was frustrating.

I don't think I could go back to those times now, as I have some major life changes coming in the very near future, but there were lots of good times to be had tin Year 1.

It's kind of funny, as much as I'm disappointed with how D2 has turned out so far, I have to be in some ways grateful that it did. If D2 had kept us all around and gave us reason to play, I probably wouldn't be on the path I am right now.I might have more to discuss on that front next week.

I can't keep this in any longer. He told me not to tell anyone, but Scott is the new lead designer for A zones on Destiny DLC Maps.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

I will say that playing with you guys on D1 was one of the highlights of my video gaming life. It was great to always see someone on.

There is no way in hell I will probably ever sink 800 hours into a game again like I did with the first, so if I can get, say, 50 hours of fun out of Destiny 2 I'm happy. I waited until the Game + DLCs was $75 and pulled the trigger.

So far it's fun but I have no desire to max anything out aside from being able to play the content, which has been fun enough.

Scott, glad to hear positive life changes are around the corner.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

My money was already spent on the "Deluxe" pre-order. So much for that, a few cheesy items and the promise of new content someday in the future. I was foolish thinking that this game was actually built on D1, not a new lite version of token scavenger hunting with no story and no real purpose.

So my money is gone whether I play anymore or not.

I have read about the changes and frankly they appear to me to be far too little far too late. Nothing in this DLC or revisions to the "economy" or items will even come close to the fun and grind of D1.

With the downtime on Friday, I took advantage of the free Xbox Live Gold demos and found several other games that are actually fun to play. I also went back to D1 and realized all the things that I miss. I spent several hours on D1 doing a new quest, looking at new inventory, going over things in my vault, looking at my beautiful chroma armor with the exact build I want, looking at my weapons that I worked hard to obtain . . . I felt like a guardian again, like I had a purpose in the world.

Nothing that will be available tomorrow comes close, at least for me.

I believe Bungie is lost and no changes to personnel, maps or claims that they are listening to the players will save this game. Where Activision is in all this is a puzzling question as they watch this franchise wither and die.

It is sad but I have moved on, as I said my money is gone and trying to play through more token gathering and identical multiple drops is NOT fun and NOT a solid use of my limited game playing time.

Good luck to those who stick it out.

I haven't pulled up the official Bungie > Destiny 2 in awhile but one look at the topics and it's like the townsfolk have the torches & pitchforks out and marching on Bungie.....

Bungie is doomed as is the game.

Bungie managed to alienate both groups of players at the same time but for very different reasons.

They made hardcore PvP players mad with the PvP changes. As a self described casual player who is terrible at PvP, I find PvP in D2 fun, much more so than D1. I can see why they are mad, all the weapons are the same, all the armor is the same . . . small maps with 33% less players slows everything down, again in a bid to keep casual players happy.

Then in a bid to appeal to the casual player they removed random perks on weapons and armor, grinding multiple steps for hard to get items, smaller maps with less actual content, no real story, no lore, no items to explore for . . . except those are the things that actually make the game fun.

So what is left? Getting tokens for rewards for EVERYTHING, no Iron Banner specific items (you turn in tokens and pray to the RNG), no Factions (rallies are pointless), no Vanguard (they stand around and moan), No vendors, no way to level except the Tuesday reset for milestones . . .

Add the broken XP (deceptive XP) mechanic, broken treasure chests with loot cooldowns to (again) keep the casual players in the game, while those of us who have limited time get shafted on loot because we are trying to maximize our play time.

Bungie is lost, the DLC will not save them, the "changes" will not save them. The changes are smoke and mirrors and the DLC content is reported to be very short. The power level raise will be done probably in a matter of hours or days by many players, then it will be back to grinding for tokens. Even the last stream they did had the reward at the end of what they were showing as two tokens and blue engram. They are clueless.

There have already been reports (unofficial) of player counts being higher in D1 than in D2.

What is most disturbing is that Bungie does not seem to care or even be interested in any kind of dialog. I get it that the forums are a toxic waste dump but their communications have all but ceased except to keep advertising.

I would be curious to know what Activision thinks about the systematic destruction of this franchise?

I'm still a little surprised they haven't folded D1 into D2. Instantly you would get a ton more content with very little work since it's just porting stuff over. There has to be a reason, right?

Maybe it's just me but I swear most of everything looked good and just badas* compared to D2....from the basic armor pieces, Crota & VoG rewards, Factions (when they actually worked) and weapons with the Black Spindle, Ice breaker, Red Death, Last Word, Vex Mythoclast and the Mighty G-Horn

D2 is running on a completely different engine(allegedly). That would be way to much work

You could always fire up D1 and level up some of your gear. That would keep you occupied for quite a while.

Apparently, masterwork weapons are not coming until next week's update. For you power gamers, min-maxers, you may want to sit on your tokens until then...

Reduced Glimmer earned from some public events to better balance them with their counterparts
Reduced the rate of Rare rewards to bring them more in line with other activities

Color me not impressed with the DLC, Its going to be a pain to slog through it 2 more times. I cant image people who are doing it on multiple consoles

-The Relentless Strikes sword perk no longer returns ammo on heavy attacks

That sucks
