Unless you're a collector I'd much rather pay $12 than the $40 it will sell for through Limited Run Games.

I prefer physical copies and I do like collecting for Switch. I don’t know if I’ll buy it at $40 new but maybe wait for a sale or a used copy. Since it’s cheap I might just buy it digitally in the mean time though.

More incentive to get the physical release then!

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Picked up Darkest Dungeon earlier this week. Aside from having frustratingly small on screen text, I really like it, and from what I've read it sounds like it's an excellent port (never played the pc/console version).
Grabbed Golf Story, too. Not a huge savings, but I'll jump all over any discount on the eShop for something I'm interested in. |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Target has some games on sale this week. Nothing I really want that I don’t have but figured I’d post in case anyone else is interested.
$19.99 LEGO Worlds Monopoly $29.99 Sonic Forces $34.99 Just Dance 2018 $39.99 Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle NBA 2K18 |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Rocket League + DLC is at BB for $15.99 w/ GCU. Even though my son plays it on Xbox, I figured for $15, that's a perfect price for some road trip gaming action for him.

Looks like sometime in March, My Nintendo Gold Points will exchangeable for “...your next eligible digital purchase (including games and DLC) for the Nintendo Switch....”
I’m guessing that means there will only be discounts and nothing free. |

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Bought two copies of Splatoon (one for my lady as a Valantines Day gift) and after two nights of playing online, we are hooked! Ended up grabbing Rocket League too, that Best Buy sale was too good to ignore.

Oh! Wonder Boy is out tomorrow, anyone else picking it up?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Finally took the plunge, placed an order yesterday for the system. Went out and picked up Mario and Zelda this morning for when it gets here, those should hold me for a while.

I kind of forgot but Bayonetta 1 & 2 comes out tomorrow. I used those bonus 3 x $10 in-store pick up credits from Best Buy on the pre-order. Looking forward to checking it out. Heard good things about the game on the WiiU.

I won't get this right away (playing Darkest Dungeon and it's amazing) but I'll pick this up sometime for sure. |

I played the first one when it originally came out and thought it was okay. Nothing all that memorable, apparently. Never played 2 but I'm hearing that it's just great.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Have you tried the parental controls? I have them enabled, and there's no distinction (for playing time, access, or anything else) between the accounts, plus for whatever reason playing time continues sometimes when the system is sleeping. I don't have any mature rated games so I haven't actually tried that feature, though.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 is coming to Switch on May 22nd. No date announced for the X Collection or Mega Man 11 yet though.

Game works really well on the Switch at least. |

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
One thing that’s irritating with the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 is for the physical release they’re making only the first collection actually on the game card and the second collection is download only. It’s so stupid because all ten games don’t take up a ton of space (I think I read it’s a bit over 5GB) and should fit on the game card.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
It’s still stupid. I could understand the logic more if it was a brand new game but these are decades old games that are being repackaged for the umpteenth time. There’s really no excuse.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
So Nintendo released the Super Mario Odyssey DLC. Nothing overly impressive in my opinion but it’s free. The main thing is Luigi’s Balloon World which is just you find Luigi in each Kingdom and you can play a mini game where you search for balloons hidden by others or you can hide one. There’s also a few new outfits for Mario and there’s a couple new filters for the snapshot feature. I’d like to see more Kingdoms added or something personally but it’s fine for a freebie DLC pack.
