Again though how has anyone been conned by Nintendo? It's exactly as advertised and works well. Despite your feelings about it anyone who purchased it and expected something different has no one to blame but themselves.

Posted this on the night of their conference in January. It's amazing what FOMO can do, because I went from that to driving from store to store checking inventory before finally importing a Switch from Spain. It got here Friday.

So far I really like it. Playing Zelda while slouched on the couch, screen resting on my belly and propped up against a pillow, and a joy on in each hand has been great.

Sales seem to be excellent for the Switch so far. And I know it's anecdotal, but despite all the negatives leading up to launch it feels like people are really liking it and it still seems to be in demand. I hope it continues to sell well past the initial launch, I know i'm really digging mine.

Nintendo is doubling production from 8 to 16 million.

Honestly it's one of my favorite consoles to date in the short time I've had it. I really like that I can have it docked and play on my TV and then get up and take it to another room or something and being able to play the same game. It just needs more titles is the main thing but it's not even a month into release yet so that will come with time.

Unfortunately that's been the mantra since the N64 and it only gets worse each generation.

I'm still hoping for a Pikmin 4 announcement but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Any ideas where I can find a Switch? You guys seeing it anywhere? I wanted to pick this up for my son's birthday (actually I already committed I would... since his birthday was last Thursday).

GameStop says they'll have Switches in-stock "as early as" Wednesday. That could mean more systems in the pipeline for everyone, but GameStop is the only store that's said anything AFAIK.

I for one am liking the steady release of small games every week on the Switch until the bigger titles like Mario Kart come out. I never bothered with a Wii U, but did it get that many ports of indie or smaller games right after launch?

Again I know people who just want a home console and nothing else probably don't care, but basically every small retro or indie style title I already know i'd prefer on the Switch over both my PS4 and Xbox One because of the portability. This is shaping up to look more like 3DS type of support then Wii U, especially if the sales can maintain it's demand through the year.

So a couple of weeks ago, I swapped Switches with my son because he was complaining about flickering on the Switch screen while playing Zelda BOTW.

I started playing Zelda and at first I didn't see the flickering happening. Then I started seeing it every so often. Now it usually happens at least once or twice during a play session (1-2 hours). It's doesn't really affect gameplay as it always stop when I move away from the spot where it started happening. My sons say this doesn't happen on their Switches now. Is this a hardware/GPU issue? Will it get worse? Should I just return it while I still can or should I just keep playing and not worry about it?

Here is a video I made showing it happening. It's a little extreme since I was able to keep it flickering for awhile by staying in the same area.

I still can't find a Switch... if it weren't for my promise to get my son this system, I'd never buy Nintendo again. They fumble every single hardware release.

I heard a lot of Targets had them this morning, and Gamestop had them 2 days ago.

It sucks, but unlike the NES Classic or something at least this is more a case of demand being really high versus just small quantities.

Other than the dock issue, I'm not sure how they fumbled this one.

It's actually been the easiest to find of any launch system I can remember this side of the Wii U.

Gamestop had them on Wednesday, many, many Walmarts had them at some point this week. Targets had them the Sunday after launch. Toys R Us will apparently have them tomorrow.

Yeah, as little as I can stand N as a company, they did just fine on this one. It was in quite good supply on/around launch day. Every successful console sells out in this general period and will take a while to catch up with demand.
