The Advance Wars "remaster" looks like ass.
They should've kept it looking the same (which looked great) and just made it 16x9. https://images.nintendolife.com/scre...7202/large.jpg https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/aIWV...9.47.45_AM.png |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
After watching the trailer, I don't think it looks bad at all. It basically looks like what I'd expect for a Switch remaster, and it would have seemed odd if they put out a completely pixilated game. I just played through the GBA games a few months ago before putting them on ebay, though, so I guess I'll be one of the people waiting for a price drop.

Played through the demo of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Pretty fun. Might have to grab the full game when it’s out.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Yeah, it’s really fun. I’ll be picking this up.

Anyone getting Triangle Strategy? The reviews that I have seen are great.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I think I should probably finish Fire Emblem Three Houses before I get it. I made it halfway through and took a break.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
That strikes me as weird. I certainly wouldn't have been offended if a strategy game with little blue and red soldiers battling each other came out at a time where there was real military conflict going on in the world.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Whether it is or is not a bad look honestly never occurred to me, but this whole thing is in keeping with a series whose first entry came out in the U.S. on September 10th, 2001. This franchise just can't catch a break!
I've never played Advance Wars, but apparently the Blue Moon army is based on Russia, and the premise involves them invading another country with tanks and bombs? |

https://advancewars.fandom.com/wiki/Blue_Moon One wonders how long Nintendo is willing to delay the release for, since the Ukraine conflict seems like it could go for a long while. Maybe instead of a delay, Nintendo could donate some of the proceeds of game sales to Ukraine relief? |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
So, I've been very anti-double dipping on WiiU games for Switch, especially full price which is still asinine. That being said I just caved on 3 that are on sale.
Mario Kart 8 - Given the new map collections coming, it is finally like we're getting a new Mario Kart so it was finally worth a purchase. Also after a single game I noticed that they fixed <s>3</s> 1 of my main gripes about the original MK8 so  New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - I missed out on Super Luigi U and used prices for that version have remained pretty high all this time, so I bit the bullet since I've been itching to play it. Super Mario 3D World - wasn't a big fan of this one when I played it on WiiU, but Questyen having it on his list for Bowsers Fury pushed me over the edge. $40 each ($120) plus I had a $50 amazon gift card, so that took them down to about $23 each which IS the right price for warmed over WiiU re-releases. |

The House of the Dead: Remake finally has a release date!
April 7th, 2022 |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
New software update lets you organize your games in groups. Finally!
Not quite like folders, and you have to press an extra button to get to them, but still, better than nothing! I know what my OCD brain will be doing this weekend - organizing my Switch games into 5 groups (folders)! - platform games (stuff like Mario Bros) - fighting/beat 'em up (stuff like final fight) - run & gun (Mega Man) - sports (Mario Kart) - adventure (metroid-vanias/rpgs) |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I'm surprised they didn't make that feature an expansion pass exclusive

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I have a question about "Primary" Switch.
My wife got a new Switch several months ago and has a lot of hours in Animal Crossing on it. Her "Primary" switch is still set to my Switch (she has a general profile and also an Animal Crossing profile on mine). If she disables the "Primary" setting on my Switch and then sets her Switch as her primary, will that screw up anything in either of the Animal Crossing games? I don't think it will, but I'm reading around and I'm not 100% clear on it. Thanks in advance if anyone knows. :) |

The only way I can see this being affected is if Animal Crossing is digital and is bought on your account, and her current switch was YOUR primary. Otherwise, shouldn't make a difference, IIRC the animal crossing stuff isn't saved to the cloud at all anyway.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Anybody getting Nintendo Switch Sports? The original was definitely a novelty, but it seems like this has some more features.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
We still break out WiiSports every so often. Never considered it a novelty. Still the system highlight.
Unless there's another sports game I'm forgetting. |
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Since I already have the leg strap from Ring Fit Adventurers, I might just pick this up digitally for $40.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
It's on my watch list. But it's one that I will wait for some full reviews before making the decision to purchase.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
They will be adding more sports later as free DLC. It would be cool if the eventually add some Ring Fit integration like an archery game.
