Not a fan of Animal Crossing (or that dock) but I like that color scheme.

It would be very cool to see an update for "Eternal Darkness."

Sorry. Been a lifelong Nintendo fan... but doesn't that sum up every year of the last decade or so? Nintendo has no plans for any of those titles, it's simply housekeeping.

I’ve actually never played any of the Animal Crossing games. Kinda curious to try one out so maybe I’ll consider the upcoming Switch game.

I think I usually play about 2-3 months of non-stop Animal Crossing every day until I burn out, and I look forward to doing the same this time around as well.

I would love to have the new Animal Crossing Switch, but I just bought a Switch lite in December while having a docked Switch hooked up to the TV.

I would be really tempted but preorders are basically sold out at this point anyway. Oh look, a shiny new pink switch lite too!

Wow, they have really added a lot of great features to this version. The construction changes to the island are fantastic!

It's now available for purchase with Voucher. I could get it slightly cheaper using Best Buy GCU + $10 RZ certificate, but I don't think there's anything else coming out from Nintendo to use it on before it expires in July.

I'm in this boat as well and just redeemed it. In fact I have one more voucher and I own most if not all of the games available for the voucher so I hope that something else gets announced before july.

I think we'll end up buying 4 copies of the Animal Crossing at our house since everyone, except me, wants it.

Do you have four switches? Because otherwise I don't see the point in buying it four times...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

The FAQ at the end of the video didn't address that properly. It made it sound like a great thing that everyone on the same Switch has the island together, but some people may not like that "feature." I don't know why they didn't tie the island to the profile, and then allow other profiles to have their own islands and also to visit each others' islands.

As long as your son has his own account and is playing on the primary switch you can both play a digital game at the same time. If he's on the secondary then yeah, you'll need another copy.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Animal Crossing is making me wish for the simpler days of the GCN where if you wanted to make a new town you could just use a new memory card and keep them separate. So each switch can only have one island?

yup. 3 regular and one lite and they'll all be playing at the same time (so not cartridge swapping) My wife was tempted to get a Animal Crossing Edition Switch from Costco but it was sold out.

Wow. You should still be able to get by with two digital copies but I'm not going to argue with a dude that owns four switches. I've been tempted to get a third but the game sharing thing limits me and I don't want to buy everything twice.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

So I played Tetris 99 at Target over the weekend on the Switch demo. So I figured I'd grab it on PS4 or Xbox. D'oh! Nintendo produced it, so it's an exclusive. Dammit...now I'm shopping for a Switch to play a $30 and 30 year old game. lol

Any chance of getting in on that Animal Crossing Switch this late? Or should I wait for a Switch Pro or another unannounced bundle for this year?

Nintendo has stated that they're not intending to release an updated Switch this year:
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/...nned-for-2020/

The only thing special about the Animal Crossing Switch was the designs on it. You can buy official skins if you want to make a regular Switch or a Switch Lite Animal Crossing themed:

I think there will be Animal Crossing Switches available in store at places like Walmart and Target if you go when the store opens on Friday. Walmart's page is showing in stock at my local Walmart.
