no interest in BC ... if I had any interest I would have kept my PS3 (PS2 moving to PS3, etc) ... onward and upward if I want to revisit a title (almost never), remastered collections will almost always fill that need |

So, it's really not a big deal for most people, but it's yet another free feature that MS is adding, which adds value (of varying degree) to your XO purchase. Those who don't want to use it don't have to use it. This coming from someone who bought that damn 250GB Xbox 360 back in October, because I figured backwards compatibility was never going to happen.

If you want to play some obscure title, backwards compatibility is the way to play certain games.

Honestly the thing I like the most is that the digital purchases I made for XBLA don't disappear now when I get rid of my 360. Well, at least some of them. I think the rise of digital and indie games means backwards compatibility is nicer then it was in previous generations where you could still have discs and buy old consoles. |

For me, having an even bigger digital library of games is a plus. Sometimes I just surf around my library of games randomly. And now, oh hey, I never played Perfect Dark, let's do that. Also, three 360 games were announced yesterday as being pre-order bonuses. I'd much rather have free 360 games than some multiplayer skin I'll never, ever use. Fallout 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2? Yes please. If anything, it's exciting because it's a company digging deep trying to stay relevant. That's when things really get interesting. And the tech behind the BC... how each title is basically wrapped in a virtual version of the 360 hardware... is fascinating. |

Haha yeah, I have my 60gb PS3 still, I only played one PS2 game (pretty sure it was Ico) and one PSX game (I think Intelligent Qube) just to test out the BC. Didn't really use it after that, but it's nice to know it's there.

I barely have time to play the games I have on my current gen system much less to play the older games. I do, however, bust out some old Sierra adventure games on my laptop while watching tv. Those take me back to my teen years and are still enjoyable and pretty damn tough to figure out.

I've been tired of the COD Franchise for a few years now. I'm glad to see Rainbow Six coming out this fall. That and Halo will be the FPS's I will be purchasing this year.
The last Guardian looked cool until they started actually playing it. There has to be more to the game play than what they showed. Horizon looked interesting. Fallout 4 is a must buy on day one. I need to finish Witcher 3 by the time this comes out. I was all in on the Xbox Elite controller until I saw the price. The updated controller with headphone Jacks might be a good enough upgrade for me though. I also can't wait for Star Wars battlefront. I hope the game plays as amazing as it looks. |

So Microsoft is going to go by votes and then make it possible to emulate 360 games one by one? At this point, what's funding that kind of effort?
I put my 360 away some time ago (kept my PS3 out because it's still the best Blu-ray player I have). At this point, the games I'd want to play on it are relatively obscure SHMUPs and such, I'm pretty sure they won't make the cut. Oh, and Burnout Paradise, I guess, where's the voting again? :) |

I don't think it's like that. I think MS already has a big list of games they're working on. They just want to see what other games the community might want to see prioritized. MS will likely lump them together by publisher, then work out a deal for all the titles that they can.

Good, not great, showing from Nintendo. They've got some games, no real heavy hitters. Gimme Mario Maker though.

That game is too good for emulation. It needs a full 1080p/60fps remaster.

Unfortunately, it's not on the list. I looked!
