The funny thing is the way Reggie's been responding in the press, basically blaming gamers for failing to understand/appreciate what Nintendo is doing.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé stated that they didn’t want to show “wonderful footage” of The Legend of Zelda Wii U at the Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event.
Fils-Aime revealed that Nintendo did indeed have “wonderful footage” of The Legend of Zelda Wii U that they originally planned on showcasing at the Digital Event, but scrapped it at the last second because they didn’t want to disappoint fans because of the recent delay.

“We where concerned that, by showing wonderful footage of the game, it would lead to further disappointment on behalf of the fans,” said Fils Aime in an interview with GameSpot. “So, that was the judgement call that we made.”

“There will be plenty of other opportunities for us to showcase that game,” he continued, “and certainly for those us that have seen that game–like me–and have seen how the game progressing; no fears, it’s going to be wonderful.”

Dumping this in this thread instead of the "new" one because <s>including</s> after this, nothing else about E3 matters.
Looks like Xbox DID win E3 (), according to Amazon & Social Media.
http://venturebeat.com/2015/06/23/xb...-network-data/

It’s tempting to assume that a video of a bunch of grown men crying over Final Fantasy VII is representative of the wider audience — but the data suggests that isn’t necessarily the case.

Two separate entities, Amazon from the retailer side (via MCVUK) and Synthesio from the marketing side, reported that Microsoft’s Xbox One and its exclusive games were the most preordered and among the most talked about coming out of the event in Los Angeles.
I still think the idea of 'winning' something like E3 is silly, but there you have it. Unbiased proof. Totally.

According to Amazon UK... and social media presence? Ugh.

I didn't even know FF VII was preorderable, did that even have a release date?

Pretty much every game is preorderable. One of the many reasons that "data" is hilarious/pointless, IMO.

Amazon lists it at Dec. 2016. But the way KH3 and FF15 have been I expect the date to be Dec. 2025

If the data weren't completely pointless (I know I base my trends on preorders on Amazon UK), it'd still be pretty depressing; the top 10 they show there have exactly one new franchise, most of the franchises are actually repeating, and number 10 on that list is a $150 controller.
