I think it makes sense from their perspective: this is a limited item that will surely sell out, might as well drive traffic to their B&M stores. Even Best Buy doesn't seem to put amiibos up on their website anymore.

But come on, who is actually going to stick around to shop there? Their prices are freakin outrageous. I could understand if we were talking about a Walmart, Target, etc where you grab some Amiibos and some groceries, but not TRU.

I dunno, I always browse through the toy aisles when I go to TRU... They often have sales (buy two, get one free or whatever) that make even their marked up items a decent deal at times, so I can see getting someone in the door as being valuable to them.

Nintendo did not make enough yarn yoshis

Local target / best buy appear to have 6 pink and 6 blue yoshis. As well as 4 green yoshi bundles.

Yeah, I actually got to Best Buy about an hour after they opened. I did in-store pick up for the game bundle and picked up one of each, leaving them with only one of each left. The plan ORIGINALLY was to hold everything for Xmas so my daughter would have pink, my son blue, my wife green, and the mega one for me. But now with the TRU deal, my wife might be left out

Oh, and this was my first Amiibo purchase at Best Buy. Nice to see the 20% GCU stack with those things, especially since these were $16.99 each instead of $12.99.

I sent my son to go get me a blue and pink yarn yoshi from BB due to the 20% off. He got there before they opened and there ended up being around 10 people waiting around while the store grabbed them from the back. Someone offered him $45 for both the pink and blue yoshi as he was leaving the store so hopefully Nintendo restocks soon. I am glad I didn't decide to just go during my lunch as it would have been a waste of time.

I am dreading waiting in line at TRU for their exclusive mega yarn yoshi. At least it's on a Sunday so I can go.

Well, I'm not going to deal with this bs, so if Nintendo only wants to ship 3 or 4 per store, I guess they don't want my money. I'm still planning on getting the Yoshi game though.

I don't know about that. Not sure how the regional shipping goes, but this was from my local ToysRUs after lunch today. Plus there were more on the wire hooks. They had at least 15+ of the game/green yoshi box as well.

The BestBuy next door to it still had stock too, but not as much.

I like the Yarn Yoshi even though I don't really collect the Amiibo figures and don't have a Wii U or 3DS. I'd like to find the green one as opposed to the pink or blue one though which seems more scarce. I think I read it was part of an exclusive with Yoshi's Woolly World.

Yeah, the green one comes with the game - the other colors are sold separately.

I thought I wanted one, but they only had the pink one in Best buy and it's SO girly, there's no way I'd buy that (unless my daughter wanted it).

Got the bundle with the green Yoshi on Amazon, though even that bundle wasn't even around for long.

If nothing else the Amiibo figures are kind of cool just as display pieces. Wouldn't mind getting the 8 Bit Mario too but I haven't found one. Might check on Amazon.

Picked up my first one of these which is the Dr. Mario. I just thought it looked cool for some reason and wanted it. I kind of want the GameStop exclusive three pack with the Duck Hunt dog and duck plus ROB but didn't want to drop $35 on it. Might get it at some point though because otherwise it'll probably end up being harder to find and more expensive.

Since I just started collecting these I think there are only two old ones I'd like to track down. Little Mac and Rosalina. I don't think I ever saw them in stores, even back when they were released.

Some quick googling turns up images for those three in individual packages. So maybe down the line we'll be able to get them without having to get the 3 pack.

I wouldn't mind the three pack but for some reason the Mr. Game and Watch doesn't appeal to me much. R.O.B. is kind of obscure but cool looking.

True. They both kind of are characters that I'm sure not a lot of people know about except for fans who grew up with the NES. Trying not to go too crazy with these things and just get a few I really like especially considering I'm not using them with the games (I don't intend to buy a Wii U but a 3DS maybe at some point) but a lot of them are so damn cool looking just to display on the shelf.

Rosalina was part of the Target online restock recently during the last release phase(Dr. Mario, Modern Marion, etc).

Not sure whether they are still available and whether it is an option for you, but I know Amazon.de had the individual releases on the Gamestop 3-pack. Might want to check there and some of the other Amazon international sites.

Although it probably is too late, I would be tempted to pick up one of the yarn Yoshis if I ran across one. My daughter noticed them while I was surfing the net recently and wants one. For those wanting the green Yoshi there is a listing on GoHastings site with a release date of 11/13.

Yep, I saw a Little Mac at Best Buy just yesterday.
I don't think I will start collecting these or anything, but I did buy Zero Suit Samus this weekend. That's my first one.
