That's why there aren't many movies based on games that make great movies.
It sounds like you're completely misunderstanding his use of Star Wars as an example.

Yeah, I was just saying that while basically the same movies, film critics still reviewed the Star Wars special editions because there were approaches you can take with a review. It's not just "It's Star Wars, but shinier!"

Sorry, it is a several games on a disc. However you do not get the entirety of the games until you connect to the internet and download more games. This process is time consuming. I award it 9/10 because that time could have been spent playing the game.

Didn't know sound was a new feature on dvdtalk.

But seriously, the collection has been marketed as being the same games, but upgraded visually. If it doesn't deliver on that promise, fine, but clearly it has.

What? It was marketed with more than just that point.
  • Halo: Both the original and anniversary editions of the game running at 1080p/60 in addition to all of the multiplayer maps (including the maps that were PC-only).
  • Halo 2: Both the original (1080p/60) and anniversary (1360x 1080p/60) editions of the game, brand new prologue and epilogue, new terminal sections, all of the multiplayer maps (including the maps that were PC-only), and six maps remade specifically for this edition.
  • Halo 3: Game now running at 1080p/60 with all of the multiplayer maps included.
  • Halo 4 Game now running at 1080p/60 with all of the multiplayer maps included. Spartan Ops to be added in at a later date.
  • Halo: Nightfall digital series.
  • Access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta beginning in December.
  • Curated playlists for both the campaign and multiplayer.
It's fine that you're wrong, you just now need to admit that you're wrong.

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection

I'd hardly consider what I said "wrong." I briefly summarized the collection. The TV show is beside the point. Whatever, we're way too literal around here these days.

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection

I want to buy this just to play Halo 2 multiplayer like the good old DVDTalk days, but I don't want to potentially ruin my nostalgic feelings.

They usually do the UPS-->USPS method of shipping and the games arrive on release day every time. This time they did straight UPS, I'm assuming because tomorrow is a USPS holiday. It just happened to come a day earlier via UPS. The map book is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Good luck watching Halo Fest on Live Events app. Better off elsewhere. Twitch app working fine (so far).

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection

I'm not a big Halo fan (played the first two back in the day, skipped 3 and 4, played ODST and Reach) but I was thinking of picking this up. Might wait on a price drop, but the buy 2 get one deal does sound tempting.

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection

I pre-ordered digital weeks ago, and assumed I would be good to go at midnight, after checking on it during the evening and it said I could play soon.

I load the game at midnight and boom, 15gb update.

Went to bed and woke up at 6 and it was still installing. The update installs each game and multiplayer separately, one at a time. Of course multiplayer was last.

Finally finished at 7, took 10 mins find players in a match and played for 4 mins before leaving for work

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection

Woo-hoo! UPS just dropped mine off. Installing now. I disconnected from Live to get the entire base game installed first, then I'll play single player while the 15gb add-on downloads.
