Doing the same thing on PS4. Need to check it out before I commit.

Spoiler:

Compare those to BF4 screen-shots, or either Bad Company game.

Sure, 60fps helps, but man, textures, aliasing, objects and so much more look bad for a last gen game, much less a current-gen game.

That looks nothing like the game as advertised. What are your settings? And what video card and CPU are you using?

That's the multilayer on the Xb1. I think the single-player looks a little better, but not by much.

Could it be that the XO version requires a texture pack install, as occurred with one of the Battlefield games on the 360?

So is this like Medal of Honor where two different engines were used for multiplayer and single player?

Dunno. Doesn't look much better on the PS4.

I do like the bonus wacky reload animations:

Re: Battlefield:hardline

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this game at first. I completely skipped the beta because the whole cops and robbers theme just seemed cheesy to me and a terrible way to go for a "Battlefield" title. But after a couple days of playing it, I'm absolutely loving it. The new Hotwire mode is just crazy fun.

And I actually like how money is required to purchase weapons and gadgets now. It appears that it's encouraging people to play the objectives more because you don't seem to earn anything if you just sit around and camp all day.

I was getting a bit excited about this a few days ago but those graphics are terrible. Also, those reloading animations are funny but also take me out of the game.

The funny animations supposedly only have a 1 in 10,000 chance of happening, so...

Only certain weapons have them, and it only can happen when the clip is empty. Chances are good that you'll never see it.

Re: Battlefield:hardline

I am going through the single player only...and it is actually sort of fun. I like that it is different and lets me approach each situation how I want. Story is just ok but well acted.

And fuck them for making 3 MP trophies, one which requires 30 hours of playing outside a way I would normally play in MP just to unlock two weapons to get 25 kills. Only thing keeping me from Plat....

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I'll bring Dying Light in this week when I pick up Bloodborne, and use that credit towards Battlefield.

Re: Battlefield:hardline

The MP in this game can suck a bag of dicks. It's literally a snipe fest and it just doesn't pay to actually try and play any objection based game. When the best part of Heist is to get a car and drive around the periphery of the map, that's a broken experience. I don't know how many times I've spawned and been killed in seconds.

I'll be finishing up the SP and trading the turd in for anything I can get. I'll never get sucked in to the Battlefield hype again.

Me neither. Me and 2 friends have been playing MP in squads, and we enjoy it thus far. The 3 minute hostage rescue is the best.

Thanks for the heads up. I can take a risk at that price.

Re: Battlefield:hardline

I'm loving this game. I think the MP is a blast. Hotwire and Heist are great. I have no interest in Conquest in Hardline because the other two are so much fun. Heist is the absolute perfect cops and robbers game mode. My only gripe is that sometimes the rounds are too short. I had one round that was finished in 2 minutes and 21 seconds. I haven't even tried Rescue or Crosshair yet.

I don't agree with the snipe-fest comment above. If anything, snipers are pretty much useless in this game. At least in my experience. The game is so fast paced, and the objectives move around so much, it pretty much eliminates the traditional camping sniper.

I agree the spawn killing needs to be addressed. I don't know if the squad player cams are off by a couple seconds, but it usually seems like the people you spawn on arent in any danger, and then you spawn in and they're in the middle of a firefight and you die instantly. That is frustrating for sure... but I'm very happy with the rest of the game. I'm glad I got it.

Re: Battlefield:hardline

I recorded a couple rounds of Heist mode from both the thieves perspective and the cops perspective. You can see how the round plays out very differently even though its the same map. A good team of thieves can end the round very quickly... a good round by the cops makes the round take a little bit longer.

I'm not sure what's up with my PS4 video sharing, but it never captures the first 30 seconds or so of each round, but for those who dont know... in Heist the objective for the thieves is to blow open two safes and steal the loot. Once they get the loot, they need to bring it to a specified getaway area. The cops job is to just prevent that from happeing. Its basically a combination of Rush mode and Capture the Flag. I personally think it's a blast to play. And it still has the chaotic battlefield feel.

My theives round didnt start recording until we had already started breaking into the "vault'. You see me waiting for one of them to blow up...

My cops round didn't start recording until we had reach the theives. They just busted open one of the vaults...

Re: Battlefield:hardline

Rented it from Family Video for 5 days. Paid 7.50. Beat the campaign and tried out the MP for a day. I turned it in a day early. Glad I paid 7.50 instead of 62.50. Something is going to have to give to get the next generation of gaming going again, it's getting pretty stale.

At best buy...

I paid 47.50...and I got 10 bucks in credit. I traded it in for 38 bucks just now, but I have 2 more weeks to mail it in to best buy.

That puts me at 48 bucks in credit...

The game goes on sale Sunday, so I will get a near 20 dollar price adjustment automatically on the phone...making the true out of pocket for this game 31 bucks plus tax, and ending up with 48 bucks in credit. I made 17 bucks to play this game for a month.

You can say this about almost any game since the concept of game rentals began. We all beat numerous NES games over a weekend thanks to a video store rental.

I agree 100%.

If all you care about is stories and single player, this can be rented and easily finished in a day or two as can 95% of the games out there. Battlefield games have ALWAYS been multiplayer focused and the MP in these games is very difficult and team oriented... and it takes a hell of a lot longer than 1 day to excel at. The majority of the negative comments (not just on this forum, but the official forums in Battlelog as well) come from inexperienced players. And that's not a dig at anyone.

The hardcore BF player probably has tens of thousands of hours playing these games and the strategies and tactics to being successful have stayed the same throughout every iteration. You can't expect to play it over the weekend and be good at it. It takes a serious time commitement. Losing definitely sucks and usually results in negative reactions towards ANY game. Winning makes the games seem a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

Re: Battlefield:hardline

After it taking nearly 4 days to install this game (see 11 pages of issues here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield...w/td-p/4411771), the campaign has been pretty fun so far, but man it's hard to recommend after all the exasperation.
