Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Yea if you want to buy a cover, Hood Blue would be the best choice. He'll play well with your Thor.

Daken is great with Patch for those early climbs in PVP without having to use a health pack. I like 544 for Daken, as he heals just fine with 4 covers, and it's nice to have that extra damage with blue when you need it. You might grab a purple for him and wait for the 5th from Deadpool Daily (assuming it's going to start over with 1st colors again after this go around).

Is there anyway to drop a cover? like if my Ironman 3* is 5/5/3 and 5/5/2 is better?

No way to drop the total number of covers. Can only re-arrange them in a different order.

I actually contemplated doing that at one point, but figured as soon as I started they would change his powers. They really need to, it's ridiculous that it's better to purposefully under cover him on Yellow.

Mags Classic (68) 5y 2r 5b

Capt Marvel Mod (55) 5r 5bk 2y
Deadpool 3r 5p 3bk
She Hulk (40) 4b 5g 4r – I read that she is pretty decent now

And, here are my 3* heroes who I have completed and maxed.

Black Panther
Capt America
Thor
Patch

Thanks
Buy 1 hood blue cover. If you are focused on PVP you will want to max hood next. If you are more PvE focused, you might want to keep hood underleveled so that he will tank less colors. Run him with BP in PVP and he will serve you very well mainly because BP will tank yellow and black. I wouldn't buy covers for any of your other characters.

Before maxing out hood, I would level every toon you can to 120 because that is a very ISO cost effective way to get more toons to playable levels and I find running different teams to be fun. Also, with this new rotating boosted toons each week for PvP, a level 120 guy will be over 166 when not the featured boosted guy.

After that, I would max out in the following order:
Hood (72) 5y 4b 4bk – do buy the blue cover
Falcon (95) 5y 5b 3p Only if you play a lot of PvE. He isn't good for PvP
She Hulk (40) 4b 5g 4r – she is much better now. With 5 green covers, she is better deffensively than regular hulk IMO. If you do a lot more PvE than PvP, go 5 blue/5 green. If a lot of PvP, I'd go 5 green/5 red
Daken DA (85) 3p 5bk 5b – purple is only 3, ideal build is 5/5/3? anything that generates 2 strike tiles per green match is fine
BW Grey (70) 5g 5r 3p – ideal build requires 5 purple? you want 5 purple/5 green
Mags Classic (68) 5y 2r 5b you want 5 red/5 blue
Capt Marvel Mod (55) 5r 5bk 2y I prefer 5 yellow
Deadpool 3r 5p 3bk You will want 5 red over 5 black
Punisher (55) 5b 4g 4r – not sure of ideal build 5 green/5 red is the generally accepted best
Hulk (153) 4g 3r 5bk – buy 1 green cover? - He will be good for sheild hoping, but not much else. He is just not good on offense.
Sentry (115) 4r 5g 4y
IM 35 (104) 5r 5b 2y – going to leave y at 2

Yeah Blue hood is a definite. The 5th green hulk I think comes free from the PVE Hulk event, whenever that pops up again, you'll get it if you play.

You know if you buy that blue Hood today you'll pull one from a standard token tomorrow, right?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Thanks for the advice all. I'll grab a blue hood cover. I ended up getting lucky in Deadpool's event and got two Widow-Grey purple covers so she's at 5/3/5 now. Most of my 3*'s are now level 120 as well.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Season XIII 10 pack time:

2* Wolverine yellow
2* Hawkeye purple
3* Punisher black - already maxed
3* Loki purple - already maxed
3* Ragnarok green Useable 2/2/1
3* Black Widow red - already maxed
3* Human Torch red - already maxed
3* Spider-Man yellow Useable 5/3/4
2* Black Widow blue
3* Daken purple Useable 3/5/2

Seven three star covers is phenomenal, but really disappointed I didn't pull any Cyclops or Cages and I still don't have a single Iron Fist.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

That is a pretty good % of 3*s. The best I got from my 10 pack was an Iron Man Hulk Buster Red. Unfortunatly, I had already whaled out and bought up to 5 red/5 black for HB after I sold my maxed out Xforce.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Yeah, that's a nice percentage of 3*s. I wonder if it's a fluke or a result of them rebalancing the distribution for tokens. I've only played in one of the PVP events for the season, so it'll be the first one I won't be getting a 10-pack from. I've basically just been playing the PVE's enough to get any needed covers & some tokens, as well as the daily Deadpools. I've got most of the game's 3*s fully covered at this point and am just slowly leveling them up for now, as the Avengers event wore me out on grinding.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I only went for it this season because of the redistribution, looks like it may be legit. I'd trade all of that for just one Iron Fist though. He is my Holy Grail at the moment even more than Hood blue or Black Panther black covers. Skipping PvE this week. Don't need any Hulks and I don't really care about Colossus even though I could use him. Any playing I do will just be for Token Hoarding. I've opened close to 100 Standards since my last 3 or 4 star pull.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I started playing Hearthstone so my Marvel Puzzle time has been mostly just Deadpool daily lately.
I did get three 3* from the 2 taco tokens and a heroic token; all in a row. nothing too exciting but it was nice after weeks of Ares and 2* wolverine pulls

Ares and Wolverine were all I was getting too with an occasional Ms Marvel. I'm saving Tacos for the next time Iron Fist rolls around and I'll eat them all then. I'm hoping Deadpool didn't get them from Taco Bell, I dread the diarrhea!

I really lucked out with standards this past week, pulled 3 gold tokens, unfortunately 1 I had maxed out, still a really good week.

I havent played pvp in a bit, I've been concentrating on deadpool, and if I get a good group for PVE I go for it. Right now I am 6th in my grouping for the hulk event, so I will most likely get at least one Daken token. The second token is the one that will be coming from deadpool soon, since I only need one to reach 5 I won't grind too much for it. Work will prevent me from getting in top 10 for 3 tokens.

There is an opening in the Dvdtalk alliance, it appears someone left.

I haven't been playing the latest season but can probably average around 500 a PVP going forward (at least I hope so, haven't played as much after the major changes and nerd to xforce). If that can help I'm up for joining.

Well it's not like we're competitive enough to be shooting for any lofty alliance rewards, it's all still pretty casual, even moreso then before.

Hell, only two alliances beat Ultron round 8 last time. I don't think anybody is all that hardcore anymore.

Our big boy alliance was one of the 2 that did that. It required a ton of team cooperation over a week (all 20 people had to hit every refresh every 8 hours). A lot of other alliances put up really good numbers. There are still a lot of hardcore players out there, but there are defiantly less now than a few months ago.

its all about luck. I tried this and must have been the last guy to fill out a group since everyone in the top 50 ranks was like 500+ points already and the first few battles were all against tough, leveled up teams

That sucks, it's worked consistently for me every time. Was able to get Colossus for the first time during the Vision PvP too.

Got the same thing. I haven't played PvP in a while and thought maybe they'd drop me in an easy bracket, but I got hit with a bunch of X-forces (nerfed but boosted, ugh), some of which I underestimated, and only made 300 before I gave up on ranking higher (plus I have no vision).

Since that still made me third in the group, I'll probably be playing around with how to score higher (even at that low number I got hit a few times). Any suggestions? The game is so different now, and being away I already missed like five or so characters, so I haven't had any reason to play beyond tacos, but I'll give it a shot.
