Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hi everyone!

I've dusted this game off and am playing through the prologue. I'm playing under the name WilliamTBunny. Can I join the alliance?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I'd like in as well but 1100+ tokens (which is around $10?) is more than what I wanted to spend in this game especially if I'm not spending it on precious roster spots. I'd be willing to Paypal gift someone $5 to help cover a spot if that is an option.

I should be in a better position to buy some gold after this event to buy a new spot. If we kick out that random guy we would have 2 spots for you guys to join and maybe pool together funds for the next one.

What's the deal with Event Rewards? I finished The Hunt: Alaska somewhere around rank 200, and I didn't get anything? I thought I was supposed to get a token.

The rewards aren't given out right away. It usually takes an hour to two IIRC.

Might just be a delay, I've seen it take a bit for me.

Went ahead and bought the 11th spot so there's one free for the next person to join.

Boom. Got a falcon in the hunt, pulled a red rags in a token and also will get 3* magneto for that doom event. Crushed it.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Yep, turned out to be a great event for me too. Came in 4th in my group overall and placed top 50 or top 10 in almost all of the past week's sub-events. Between everything that ended last night, I woke up this morning to 2 Falcon covers, 2 Alliance covers, 6 standard covers, about 6,000 ISO and 250 hero points.

Also, nice to see the Alliance growing and getting the extra bonuses from the higher rankings.

Got a Falcon too. Pretty sweet rewards for doing those events.

Are you up to pitching in for it? I don't want to kick out the random. He is crushing it so far.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I can't swing the full cost of the next spot which is what 1200 tokens? But am more than willing to paypal someone $5 if that is acceptable. Yeah, don't kick that guy. His roster is way better and higher than mine. I'm still in the early stages rocking IM (20), BW (20) and Storm (15). Working on raising Jugg (10) too.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I'll start trying to work on moving over. I'll check the stats on my current alliance guys and get the best 1 or 2 to move over first when spots are available.

The Hunt rewards were terrible for me. My heroics cards ended up being Moonstones and Bagmans. boo! None of my standards ended up being anything more than 1*.

I agree. It looks like he plays every day and seems to do well in the events. Should we tell him to join the DVDTalk Forum? It looks like he wants to discuss strategies. Maybe he'll start posting here.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I ended up Top 100 in The Hunt and Top 200 in each of the events. I got the Falcon, a couple of 2-Star Assault covers, a bunch of basic covers, and a couple thousand ISO points. The payouts each day were great too.

That was an awesome event. It helped me move from a team of Level 30 1-star characters to a team of level 40 2-star characters.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I prefer DVDTalk members over the random guy, but I can see why you guys want to keep him. I think we need to figure out what to do for the next spot though, the cost is pretty high right now for a new player to buy a slot themselves, I think. Although if everyone put $2 in a 'pot' that someone handled they could buy the $19.99 option for the next 2 slots...

If someone wants to do this, I'll pitch in $5. Just send me a PM.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

For spending actual cash in the game, does it only offer a discount for your first purchase, or are there periodic sales for everyone? When I first bought hero points, they showed a special offer of 3600 for $20. I've looked a couple times since then and now it's always 2900 for $20. If it's a first-time thing, then the person collecting money to open up the next handful of slots should be someone who hasn't made a purchase before, so as to get as much for the money as possible.
