The game as released does not have Oculus support. They did a few early tests with it, but that's all.

Adding rift support isn't exactly a daunting task.

It probably will be if the game bombs.

getting some decent early reviews. can't wait to get the Nostromo edition from the vile and disgusting GameStop.

Pretty sure you can still play games with the Rift that don't have native support, just takes some tweaking.

Looks like I've finally mastered the art of manipulating the Gamefly Q. I've got the Xbox One version mailed to me this morning. Should get to try it out on Wednesday.

My copy should be arriving today, but I won't have time to play it yet. Still undecided on whether to keep it or exchange it.

I gave into temptation, and all the positive word-of-mouth from people whose opinions I trust, and picked this up this morning. Most places still seem to have the Nostromo Edition in-stock, unsurprisingly.

It has mostly positive reviews and solid word of mouth so it isn't much of a risk heh

PC Gamer put up a defense of the game as well, mostly stating they're mystified by some of the complaints: http://www.pcgamer.com/addressing-cr...ien-isolation/

Rented it this morning. I've got about 2 hours in so far. It seems pretty good but I'm in so early I haven't ran in to the "cheap kills" portion yet that many reviews talk about. I did laugh, when I booted it up. A 896 MB update on release day. I think that's the biggest I've ever run in to.

Was that on 360? It was over 1.5 GB on XB1.

Cutscenes have some serious stuttering issues, and I've read that it's the same for PS4. Hope they patch that.

^^Yeah, it is. I haven't noticed any huge issues but I haven't played that much. I plan to log a few hours tomorrow and will post back.

I'd like to pick this game up but not sure if I should get it now or just wait until I purchase a Playstation 4. I'm leaning towards just waiting at this point. The reviews have me pretty excited about this one though.

Re: Alien: Isolation - 10/7/14 (PS4,XO,PS3,360,PC)

Played another couple hours today. The tension in this game is super high. It's amazing how I find myself staring at the screen and trying to notice any movement out of the corner of my eye. Also, the music and sound makes you think something is about to happen and sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Pretty amazing. Five missions in and so far I would say this is definitely a stealth game.
I know save points and trial and error were a knock on this game but so far it hasn't been to bad. I think I've had to play about 20 minutes over out of about 5 hours so far. I have a feeling it could change any time but so far so good.

I don't have it yet but I'm nervous as hell to sit and play this game. That is an accomplishment.

This game is terrifying. I play a lot of horror games and I can't think of one that has as many "hold your breath and listen intently for any possible noise" moments. And it's so, so good for fans of Ridley Scott's Alien.

This is a pretty well done game and it's definitely a cult classic in the making. It feels like a sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien because of how close the design is to the original. I also can't think of a game that really makes you feel as helpless as this game does. This is true survival horror and it's also a pretty stressful game because of how hopeless it feels.

Great game but it's only going to be able to be played by a couple different people. It's the true definition of "not mainstream" and actually kinda reminded me of this game.

You do realize they made lots of copies of the game, right? You disc wasn't the only one pressed.

Agreed. This is survival horror at its best. Haven't had the same sense of impending doom since opening doors in the original Resident Evil.

Just finished up the level "Quarantine" can't believe how bad my palms were sweating and mentally exhausted I was. There are times when I know the alien is behind me and find myself crawling away to a hiding spot just hoping the whole time it didn't see me. The sound in this game is amazing.

Yeah, I have NO idea what you mean by this. It's a bigger-budget, fairly high profile game. It may not be aimed at a market as big as the Call of Duty games are, but it is most certainly mainstream, and hardly obscure.

I've seen commercials for the game on ESPN while I've been at the gym, so it's getting marketed clearly outside of the normal gaming circles.
