Just got a shipping notice for this from Best Buy.
The only DLC I want is the Nostromo stuff. They better put that up for sale.

It was never clear if you got that from every retailer or just Gamestop. I hope it's every retailer.

I agree that it was unclear. In fact I had to research it earlier today when I was deciding whether to pre-order.
Every pre-order copy is the "Nostromo Edition," which comes with the "Crew Expendable" DLC code packed in the box:
The Gamestop exclusive pre-order DLC is "Last Survivor":
Every pre-order copy is the "Nostromo Edition," which comes with the "Crew Expendable" DLC code packed in the box:
Players can choose to play as one of three surviving crewmembers, only moments after Brett's death at the jaws of the creature. As Ellen Ripley, Dallas or Parker, players can explore the Nostromo from habitation deck down through engineering, coordinating their efforts with Lambert and Ash to lure the Alien into the ship's airlock.
Players pick up the story as Ripley tries to escape on the Narcissus. On hearing the screams of Lambert and Parker, players must navigate their way back down through the Nostromo in order to activate the self-destruct sequence, before retracing their steps back to the Narcissus shuttle and their escape.

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up. I'm glad that at least some of the DLC wasn't exclusive. And I will pay money down the line for the other Nostromo DLC if it's good.

Just read the Gamespot review. It got a 6. Doesn't sound too great. Biggest knocks were lots of trial and error with long times between saves. Also, it feels like a 4 hour game stretched to about 14.
IGN's is up but it's a video review and I didn't watch it. I don't imagine it's much better because they start it out with "The good news is that it's better than Colonial Marines...".

Well....that's enough to dissuade me from a full price purchase. To the Gamefly queue this one goes.

There have been a lot of very glowing reviews, though. Read through some of those before making too firm a decision. Even the higher scoring reviews seem to grouse about the campaign dragging out too long, admittedly, and that's something I can have a hard time getting past.

Yeah, it's in my Q. I'll try to get it at launch. Never was a game I wanted to buy anyway. The IGN review (5.9) has totally dissuaded me from being very excited about it. What bums me out the most though is that the Nostromo content is all DLC and therefor not playable in a rental or used version of the game. In other words, I'll probably never get to play it.

Good thing I don't go by IGN reviews. Read some of the comments on their FB page. They're hilarious.
"Alien: Isolation" is no Call of Duty" - 5.9.

Here are some choice quotes from positive reviews (taken from GAF):
Still haven't decided if I'm pre-ordering. Very interested, but the way they're doing DLC pisses me off in a big way. I know a complete edition will be here in less than a year.
Is Alien: Isolation for everyone? Perhaps not. If you demand reassurance, telegraphed threats, predictable solutions, and an inherent, hand-holding sense of ‘fairness’, you might find the experience too much to handle. But those of you brave enough--those of you tired of existing video game approximations of survival and horror, and craving a real test of your skills, instincts and nerves--will find a bounty of thrilling, engrossing, profoundly fulfilling rewards. If you truly embrace it, then during its most powerful moments, Alien: Isolation will probably make you feel more alive than a video game has in years.
Isolation is the best Alien game I’ve ever played, I’m in no doubt about that. Even in its awkward moments it is doing something interesting with the license, exploring the edges of what is possible in its world, quietly and discreetly. I expect the debate about certain design choices to be loud and long. At the centre of the debate will be one of the finest entries in the Alien canon in any medium, and one of the finest horror experiences in ours.
This is a game that makes you feel like Sigourney Weaver in the first Alien film: scared, alone, and constantly on edge. I've never been so terrified by a game, for so long. No matter how many times I encountered the alien, I never felt comfortable in its presence.

I love when someone reviews a game in a way that cuts you down if you don't agree with them. "You won't like this game if you are an idiot"
I might play the game when its 10 bucks. Hiding the biggest names behind pre-orders was a bad sign from the start. I have enough on my plate the rest of the year. I have not even started Mordor yet because for some reason I can't stop playing Destiny even though I hate it..lol

Hrm, now I'm debating returning this and putting the credit towards Smash Bros instead. I haven't even started Shadow of Mordor yet.

I'd get Isolation but I will probably wait until they do package everything together. I already have 3 games to keep me busy with and Evil Within comes out in 2 weeks.

Did they reveal how long the game is? I thought I heard 14-15 hours, but I feel like I'm mistaken. If it's that short, I have time off this week to beat it in a few days.
I'm still keeping through with my pre-order. I'll probably get rid of it the next time Best Buy has a 50% trade-in bonus credit.

This is getting pretty solid reviews, that has to be a sigh of relief for franchise right holders and fans alike.

Polygon, IGN, and GameSpot have given it middling reviews, thankfully two are terrible sites and the other is as bipolar as they come.
