Here's a Review of this Air Cooler but they show a ...How to Install as well. They talk about some other Air Coolers. Pretty good video....

I haven't had a chance to check all their videos. Do they have any where they list their best pre-builts for a given year?

Saw this early this morning and thought "what the fuck...?!" until a split second later I realized what day it is today.

at $1,229.99. I figure it's a good starting point, with potential upgradability. Yay or nay?

The HP Line...the Envy is sort of between the Normal HP and HP Omen lines...I'd call it very entry levelish in Gaming at best.....Specs are OK...BUT...inside will paint a different picture. Pretty much everything from Motherboard, Video Card, Power Supply, etc are OEM. Even the Case is probably OEM...which means if anything goes wrong, want to upgrade...it's slim choices and only thru HP. Given a choice, I'd look at the HP Omen Line for a deal. Their laptops have always gathered positive reviews for the featureswith pricepoint as being some of the best deals out there. And their Towers are pretty good.....

Here's a video from back july 2021 with someone who ordered a HP Envy and opened it up. What's there is probably not far off from what you would see with this unit.....Below it is a review of the HP Omen 25L....it's a Night & Day Difference....

On a side note, pay attention especially on the Cooling & Thermals. it's a area where majority don't pay attention and instead go for specs and looks. I'm wanting to build one and the internal parts are no problem but picking the case and cooling has been a huge part.

Just saw this over at Skyteck and frankly this is a really good deal...a well vented case, has a Nvidia 3070Ti, a 750Watt Power Supply (a lot of pre-built have a 600Watt), the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X which yea it's a bit old but still solid. Only gripe is the stock CPU Fan which put a better aftermarket Air Fan for around $50, add another 16gb DDR memory and that's one-heck-of-a-pc... Chronos (skytechgaming.com)

I've heard it both ways.

Considering LED by itself is normally pronounced "El Ee Dee," it makes since that some would pronounce OLED "Oh El Ee Dee," but I've heard "Oh Lead" before as well. From what I see, both pronunciations of OLED are acceptable.

Yep it's both. Mostly because people rarely refer to an L-E-D as a Led TV.

Looks like the Valve Steam Deck is getting some legitimate competition in the form of the Asus ROG Ally.

Everyone is like it's an April Fool's joke but it was initially announced on the 31st.

In the countless YouTube videos that I've watched researching OLEDs before purchasing, or discussing with people in electronic stores, I've never ONCE heard anyone pronounce it as "Oh El Eee Dee"...

Re: PC Gaming Thread

When OLED first debuted, I'd heard it called "oh el ee dee". It was much later when I started hearing people using "oh lead" more frequently. And lately I've been hearing people refer to LED screens as "lead" rather than "el ee dee".

Yes, which was obviously an April Fool's Day prank video that was packed with puns (including the pronunciation of O-L-E-D). That same YouTuber refers to them as Oh-Lead in his other videos.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a gaming PC (my son really wants one). It's been a loooong time since I've been in that world. What REALLY matters when you're spec'ing out a machine?

It’s going to depend on your budget. First decide the screen size and resolution (1080p, 1440 or 4k) you want to play at and then pick the appropriate GPU.

'ver been looking at parts and even PC Builders on getting one for over a year on and off...I have a PS5 which I'm content with but just wanted a Gaming PC for PC Specific Games.....the stumbling Block...for Me...has been the insane Video card Prices. I'm not shooting for True 4K Stuff but more of a Middle-of-the-Road strong enough for 1440P Ultra and something to last at least a few years.....it's been a learning experience at every turn realizing how import the Parts in a Gaming PC are...like the importance of PC Cases Air Flow, Cooling, the bottleneck of CPU and GPU, Motherboards, enough Power Supply, etc...

On the Monitor....I use to play PS4 ona Sony projector but getting a 4K one was going to cost a bundle. A friend suggested getting a Gaming Monitor and I said, no, they're too small....But I ended up buying one after seeing some YouTube Videos playing consoles on Gaming Monitors. I didn't get a True 4K...at the time way too much...instead settled for a 2160 x 1440 ASUS Model that I have just loved. Plus it has ports for a Gaming PC, it's on a Sit & Stand Desk. It's not fancy with latest tech like some recent but those are double and even more than what I paid for...No Way I'd go 27"...the 32 inch is fine though I am looking later for a 42-48 inch model....But ASUS, Samsung, LG, Dell, Benq make some good ones...
ASUS TUF Gaming 32 ASUS TUF Gaming 32" 1440P HDR Curved Monitor (VG32VQ1B) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 165Hz (Supports 144Hz), 1ms, Extreme Low Motion Blur, Speaker, FreeSync Premium, VESA Mountable, DisplayPort, HDMI (amazon.com)

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I think I might pick up a gaming PC as well. I was PC-only for years and year, and slowly started adding in consoles, but I've missed certain PC-only games and the ability to use mods for some games. This time I was looking at prebuilt gaming PCs - in particular the Lenovo Legion ones - since I have a large credit there through work. Ideally I'd like something that could handle outputting to my 70" 4K TV at a reasonable framerate, but we'll see. The best one I could afford has a RTX 3080 Ti, which I think would be fine for a while for me.
