I keep debating this myself. I still have AC:Brotherhood and Revelations to finish, as well as AC3. Everyone's saying 3 is skippable, but about about the other two?

On the other hand, I know 4 is an entirely new story, so it's not like I HAVE to play them... but I figure I could get through at least one of them before 4 gets a price drop. I've bought 1, 2, 2B, 2R, and 3, all for about $20 each.

Then again, I might just wait to buy 4 until after I get a PS4, but only because of the extra gameplay.

It's okay and well made if overpriced. But the requirement of line-of-sight is sort of ridiculous in this day and age.

I tried previous AC games but always found them to get old pretty quick. AC4 seemed like it had more varied missions and scenery which made it the first one I actually stuck with. Really fun game.

I would still recommend playing Brotherhood and Revelations. Both were great. I'm in the same boat with 3 though. I'm still deciding on whether to play it before Black Flag or not since I've played through all of the rest of them and enjoyed them. I know if I play Black Flag first, I'm probably not going to end up going back and playing through 3.

I figured Thief would have a sale soon. Is it worth $30 from the people who've played it?

How's the reliability of everybody's XB1? I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed in mine. All I have played is Titanfall, and I have to force close the game at least once per play session because it either doesn't load up properly or some other glitch. Anyone else have issues like this?

I've played about 16 hours of Titanfall, and it has only crashed like that once.

There were server issues yesterday, so that could be part of the problem you were having. If it persists, swap it or reset and see if that helps. It absolutely should not happen regularly.

I've had to power cycle my family room X1 about 3 times already... however, my bedroom X1 is a pain. I have to put a disc in about 3-6 times in order for the laser to pick it up and actually play the disc. Not sure what the problem is.

Rob,

Are you talking about the damaged or dirty disc error? Ever since the update, if I eject the disc and try to put in another, I get a dirty disc or damaged error. I have to turn off the xbox to get it to work again. Really really annoying.

It might work if I close out of the game but I don't remember to do that and this happens even if I haven't played the game at all since the power has been turned on to the xbox.

Edit: this might be part of the beta program

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

One weird thing I've noticed is that, when my XO is in standby, the fan is still running. Not loudly, of course, but I can feel it when I put my hand over the unit. I think I'm going to turn off standby mode entirely. I left it on before when the XO was plugged into my secondary TV and I could use the Kinect, but now that it's hooked up to the projector, and there's no Kinect extension cable (grumble grumble!), standby really has no use other than pre-installing updates. If I can't say "Xbox on," then why should I let it consume power all goddamn day?

50% of the time I get a "Do you own this game?" message (when I select the game from the home screen) and the other 50% I just get a loud internal clunk sound and then no "spinning" noise inside the
X1 when I insert a disc. Very, very rarely do I get the disc to fire up the first time I put it in. I don't know if I have a bad laser, if it's the Beta program or the X1 is a lemon. I suppose I should call while this thing has a warranty.

I definitely would call. My XO is extremely quiet, and has never not recognized a disc when inserted.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

The only disc-related issue I had was when removing a blu-ray (one of the Breaking Bad discs). I pressed the eject button, the disc came out of the slot. I pulled the disc out, then the XO sounded like it was spinning the empty tray. A few seconds later, I got a "disc not recognized" error. Weird because there was no disc inside at that point. Seems to be a quirk with the slot-style loader they used.

After the recent update, I haven't seen nearly as many issues as before. But I a power cycle about once a week to keep things running smoothly.

Are you part of the Beta dashboards? I had an update I think this week and by gauging the Beta forums, this is a problem for tons of people. Engineers are working on a fix though but it's a huge problem.

My biggest issue since the update is every few days, all the sudden my Xbox doesn't want to log me in/load the video/music/apps section to the right (you'll just see a spinning wheel, as if it's loading those sections). I do a cycle, and it's fine for a couple days, and then back to the same issue.

This happening to anyone else?
