What's weird is that there's not a system seller at all for the PS4 yet. The price difference is making a difference, obviously.
I'm waiting for either system to have a real system seller, I would say Titanfall fits that role but I don't see anyone with a 360 upgrading for its first entry (visuals being the big seller, and I can't see it looking substantially different on the two platforms.) So far Assassin's Creed IV and Battlefield 4 are about as good as it gets on either platform for now

One could argue, as one is so inclined, that nearly every multi-platform game is a PS4 system-seller, since they run at higher framerates with more pixels, regardless if actual gameplay and story are identical.

The biggest mistake was to bring this out for the Xbox 360. I just don't get why.

Yep, imo it's a huge mistake, though there would be outrage if they didn't -- the visuals are very obviously last gen.

I suppose, but the controls for the PS4 don't work for me. I like the "girth" of the Xbox One controller. I'm probably in the minority. But there weren't anything multiplatform that was that impressive enough or obviously better than the Xbox One version. At least, not yet.

I guess so. My last gen were the days of N64 and PS. Everything looks next gen to me, but I think the Xbox One Titanfall looks amazing. I think I can see players better in this game compared to CoD. Plus the movement of the characters seems very next-gen for me. Cod maps seem very limited compared to Titanfall.

Them pixels don't lie.

I'm with you. I've kind of avoided the multi-plat games anyway (I won't get AC4 until I at least get through AC:Brotherhood, AC:Revelations, and AC3... so... yeah... years from now. Other than that, there aren't any that I want to own yet. Except NFS and COD, which I already have, of course). And with Titanfall around the corner, and the in-laws staying with us for six weeks, I have a feeling everything else is going to be put on hold for me.

Six weeks?!?

Isn't that the perfect time to start a marathon gaming session?

You're not the only one. I love the X1 controller and wish that the PS4 had that feel. That said, the PS4 is quickly becoming my system of choice simply because of the PS+ network. Free games is free games and being relatively new to PS+, I was blown away at home many awesome games were available for d/l on the PS3... I suspect it'll be just as awesome on the PS4.

So while Titanfall may be a "system seller" for the X1, I don't see MS overcoming the $100 price difference or power of the PS+ network.

XBL could just be as competitive as PSN in the months to come. Aside from that, XB1 had started jumping on the idea of discounted games. It's why I bought Ryse.

Could be but aside from a few game being free (mostly lame) I'm not as impressed as I am with the PS+. Trust me, I want the Xbox to be my #1 system -- I prefer the controller and interface over the PS3/4... but I can't help but think MS is continuously dropping the ball.

Definitely fast to get a bundle out, but there have been deals where companies have offered free Battlefield or Call of Duty too. I wonder if Microsoft had this planned from the start, 4 months is pretty quick to add a free game like that.

Good move though, I imagine it should move a lot of units.

Forza 5 has crashed to the dashboard 4 straight times I've tried to race, is this common? This system is such a POS it's unbelievable.

Hasn't happened to me (yet?), but I'm seeing similar reports on the Forza 5 forums.

There was a recent Blu ray app update within the past month. No out of sync issues, and I was able to change back the av sync default on my AV receiver.

Sorry to interrupt with Xbox One news, but:

Twitch streaming arrives on March 11
Twitch video game broadcasting is coming to the Xbox One next month, launching alongside the hotly anticipated Titanfall for the next-gen console.

Previously Twitch said that live streaming would come to the Xbox One sometime in 2014. It's currently possible to spectate Twitch streaming and upload recorded game clips, but not live streaming via the console.

Twitch CEO Emmett Shear told the Associated Press this morning that live streaming is finally on the way, and will debut on March 11 alongside Titanfall.

"It's complete integration," Shear says. "It's exciting because we've never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters' party is really cool, and it's another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters."

Notably, Twitch live streaming has been part of the PlayStation 4 since the Sony console's launch. However, the PS4's Twitch app was created by Sony with Twitch's help, and doesn't allow users to connect to other broadcasters' parties.

Twitch will no doubt be keen to see how launching for Xbox One affects its user numbers. Last month, the company said that nearly 20 percent of all Twitch livestreams come from a PS4.

And it sounds like Microsoft found their new guy to manage the Xbox division

"Ex-Nokia CEO Stephen Elop taking over Xbox division at Microsoft"

Hopefully he's better than Mattrick

More official info about the Twitch integration:
The best broadcasting and spectating experience on any game console is on its way when the new Twitch app launches on Xbox One on March 11. Twitch, the world’s largest video platform and community for gamers with 45 million visitors per month, and Xbox One, the only all-in-one games and entertainment system, are joining forces to bring the broadcasting and spectating experience into the new generation. Both Twitch and Xbox One are seeing blazing growth, with Twitch’s traffic skyrocketing, as the #4 peak US internet traffic destination and Xbox One off to the fastest launch in Xbox history. On the heels of the acclaimed “Titanfall” beta, which peaked at No. 1 on Twitch across all platforms with more than 65,000 concurrent views on Feb. 13, it’s time to give the world its first taste of the next-generation multiplayer action. On March 11 when “Titanfall” launches, Twitch and Xbox One come together for the first truly next-gen Twitch experience, one that can't be matched by any other console.

Only with Twitch on Xbox One can you broadcast and watch your favorite games live by simply saying “Xbox, Broadcast.” Once you’re done broadcasting, you can use Twitch to watch the games you love, chat with the players you follow, or even join a broadcaster’s game. Xbox One is the only next-gen console that allows you to archive your Twitch broadcasts and view live Twitch streams regardless of their original source.

“Only Xbox One offers the most complete Twitch experience, with access to any live broadcast and the full Twitch catalog,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate VP of Marketing, Xbox. “We’ve designed Xbox One to be the best place to play with features and unparalleled partnerships that deliver epic moments for gamers.”

“Over the last two years, we have seen the broadcasting and spectating of video games go from a niche activity to a pastime shared by millions,” said Emmett Shear, CEO and Founder, Twitch. “As the experience grows in popularity, it’s important to provide as broad a feature set as possible for the community. Microsoft has done just that by rolling out the most robust console integration of Twitch to date and setting a new bar for others to strive for.”

Twitch on Xbox One

Thanks to Kinect, Xbox One owners that have completed a one-time setup of their Twitch account can begin live streaming their game of choice simply by saying "Xbox, Broadcast" at any point during their time playing it. Kinect also allows you to easily include your picture-in-picture video feed and audio commentary along with the game broadcast, making it the perfect way to connect with your friends and followers. Xbox One's Twitch app is a great way to meet new friends, too, as you'll be able to view the gamer card of anyone streaming from Xbox One and begin following them.

Your Twitch activity will appear right in the friends app and activity feed of your followers, giving everyone a real-time update on what you're broadcasting or watching. You can even set up notifications for a heads-up when one of your favorites begins broadcasting. During the broadcast, broadcasters and viewers will be able to interact (viewers can post comments in the chat stream, while the broadcaster verbally responds or assigns a moderator to keep chat running smoothly while they're busy playing). Xbox One is the only next-gen console offering a complete Twitch chat experience, offering 10 lines in the chat stream and allowing viewers to choose their name color and post emoticons. As an added bonus, broadcasters can invite friends into a private party from the chat stream, allowing them to voice chat outside of the broadcast.

In addition to the ability to use Kinect's voice commands to begin (and finish!) broadcasting, a number of other special features make the Twitch experience on Xbox One a unique one. You'll have access to the all of the live broadcasts, as well as exclusive content. Unlike other Twitch console experiences, you can also broadcast a full-screen view of the game you're playing or use an on-screen viewer indicator to keep an eye on how popular your live broadcast is. You can even earn Media Achievements just by spectating as you normally would or, we hope, by checking out any of the Xbox One games you haven't seen before.

The best part of the first truly next-gen Twitch experience coming to Xbox One is that it will be here in time for the release of "Titanfall" on March 11. It's fitting that the first truly next-gen multiplayer game will be making a Titan-sized splash on the first truly next-gen Twitch experience.
Seems like it's going to be very robust. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I'm sure I'm just not the target demographic, but I don't see any appeal to broadcasting my gameplay.

yeah, the only appeal i see to it is if you are a reviewer and want to show off the game via that method.
