It was a video from Microsoft, narrated by Major Nelson.

Turned on my Xbox One, had a 4gb update to throw on it, finishes load Overwatch, 2gb patch. I mean in total? 10 minutes (installation is slow) but still kind of screwy.

360 offerings are pretty meager (I already own BG&E anyway), but a free wrestling title is always welcomed. I'm tempted to also play Warriors too but its one of those Dynasty Warriors type games which means a lot of needless button mashing.

500 GB Xbox One price cut again, to $249, as Xbox One S nears launch.

A game preview of We Happy Few is free on XBox One.

https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-On...id=majornelson

http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/26/122...g-humble-store

We Happy Few is played from a first-person perspective, and players will use melee weapons to defend themselves against the town residents. The game is a balancing act, requiring the player to monitor hunger, thirst and health levels while dressing properly and popping harmful Joy to avoid angering the local riffraff. The environments are procedurally generated, and death requires restarting from the beginning.

The early access version of the game will not include some story elements, such as cutscenes and other narrative interactions, that will be in the final game.

Those bundles make no sense. For $300 you get 2 games and for $400 you get nothing?

The only thing I can guess: Microsoft figures that the people eyeing the lower capacity models are either budget conscious or are new to the whole Xbox One thing, so they need a little something extra to tip them over. The people eyeing the 2 TB model are more willing to pay a premium and don't need that sort of coaxing. Still sucks, though.

Maybe we'll still see some 2 TB deals in the next few days even if they're not sanctioned by Microsoft. It's kind of a drag because my father-in-law is dead-set on the 2 TB model, and he won't get any other bells and whistles. (He's hoping the lower power draw will let him take it on the road with him.)

I'm getting the 2tb version as well but free Madden sounds cool. I could possibly get a free controller (assuming GameStop is still running their deal) out of it, too. The only problem is Amazon gets me 10% cash back when I use my Discover card. So that's an easy $40.

Hmmm....

You mean, like he wants to power it in a vehicle? What type?

From what I can find, the current Xbox One uses from 70-120 Watts:
http://energyusecalculator.com/elect...ameconsole.htm

A car's power is 12v, and can maybe deliver 10 Amps, which would be 120 Watts:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cigare...ter_receptacle

Of course, that's ignoring that you'd need some sort of display.

What's the best way to move all content from one external HDD to a bigger HDD? Google search gives several different techniques and I don't know which is easiest.

I don't know why anyone would buy any more than the 500 gb. I bought the 500 in November and bought a 1TB external this spring for 40 bucks. Its faster than the internal drive and as tech keeps improving every few months the externals will once again be faster than the built in drive on the new system.
I install all my disc games to the external and put all my free games with gold on the internal. Delete when I'm done playing a game and never even get close to using 50 percent disc space.

We went ahead and bought our daughter the 500 GB one yesterday and plan on giving it to her for Christmas. For $249, we didn't want to chance them going back up in price since we were planning on getting her one anyway.

Can you make it an early Christmas present? Considering the new 500GB model is launching at $299, there's a chance it could be discounted to $249 by Christmas itself, and you'd be stuck gifting an older, clunkier model for no actual savings.

Also, I'm pretty sure the 1 year warranty is from date of purchase, so you'd be losing out on about 4 months of coverage.

There are a number of bundles available with a few games and an extra controller for $250. I doubt you'll see the new model for that by Christmas.

The new 500GB model comes with 2 games on release (Halo 5: Guardians & Halo: The Master Chief Collection), so it'll likely have games bundled with it around Christmas. Also, MS has been very aggressive with the pricing of the console, especially around the holidays when they introduce "temporary" price cuts that eventually become permanent.

Also, it maybe depends on the kid, and it's been a while since I've been one myself, but I'd personally rather have my Christmas gift now if it's been purchased now, rather than wait for an arbitrary date in December, especially since it's tech.

Edit: Also, buying it now means that the return period starts now, and will expire well before Christmas. So if she opens it up Christmas morning and it doesn't work out of the box, it will mean sending it in for warranty repair instead of just exchanging it at the store. Probably only a remote chance of that happening, but still a possibility that some encounter.

He's a trucker and would like to be able to play it when he's stopped for the night. He's told me his power requirements, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. He said the draw on the regular Xbox One is more than will work for him, but he's hopeful the Xbox One S might. He's getting an Xbox One S regardless, but being able to have something to do on the road would be fantastic.

She's only 6 so I'm sure she will go ape crazy over it no matter what. Plus, it came with a free game and I bought a three year warranty in case something goes wrong with it.
