How are they useless? Just not planning on buying a single thing on PSN over the next 5 years?

Anyway, sounds good to me. I posted in the exchange forum and didn't get any response. PM me.

I redeem codes online all the time.

Yep, pretty much never have and never would buy something from the PSN...don't even have PS+. Had it for a year once on PS3, attempted to get a game once and it was 18gb...took about a week off and on due to the lack of downloading while off. Never again, hate the psn and horrible store

Nah, I got in the habit of calling them "points" for several years. And now it guarantees family doesn't give me a year membership to Live instead of credit.

As for redeeming online, I typically do, but the purchasing part of XBL was down yesterday and wouldn't let me redeem.

The new 12/28 deals:

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut: 75%
The Golf Club: 50%
Zombie Driver: Ultimate Edition: 66%
Flockers: 75%

I might pick up Flockers for $6. If anyone pays money for SSZ, they should be executed.

I'm specifically referring to "point" codes, not $20 cards. I haven't tried lately but they removed the ability to redeem the 1600 point (etc) codes online about 6 months prior to the X1 launch. They make you do it on the console.

So your last impression of PSN was circa 2007?

Downloads on PS4 have been just as fast as the 360 for me since it launched. The stores are a wash. Neither are particularly good, nor bad. They both have their quirks. Both are clunky compared to just buying in a web browser online.

That's harsh. If anyone pays money for SSZ, they've already suffered enough!

Nah, I use it daily at work (when it works) which is why I would never try to use it at home again

I am sure that this has been asked but very difficult to wade through many posts...

What is a good external 7200 RPM hard drive for the Xbox one?

This is the one I'm using. I got it for around $60-$70 a month or so ago. Its only 5400 rpm but seems to work just fine.

Downside to that one is that it requires AC power.

I got this one for Christmas and it has worked beautifully so far. It does require AC power, but that isn't a problem for me. It's on sale at BB this week.

Decided to get the XB1, since all of my friends are on it and its on sale. Currently installing Halo and it is taking forever... is this common. I will be shocked if it is done installing two hours later at this point. Anything I can do to speed this up?

No. Halo is unusually slow to install, even when you take into consideration the 15gb download for multiplayer, still slow.

Glad to know it isn't a faulty system then.

I had a PS4, but all of my friends stayed with the Xbox this gen, so I decided to go back. Hopefully I'll get more use out of it

It's not that common. Many games allow you to start playing while the install continues.

It's left over from the original always online digital vision. Phil Spencer has said that game installs are high on his lists of things to fix this year. Hopefully, background music off a USB or something is also on that list.

Side Note: I beat "D4" twice already and have a few achievements to mop up. Actually a pretty fun/easy game but has your standard shitty Japanese game controls. I would gladly by a season 2 if they ever decide to make one. Another great Games With Gold entry, hope they keep it up with more good than bad!

Hopefully will try soon now that I have a ONE.The February one looks awesome even though I can't stand 8-bit/retro looking games.

Other Ocean Interactive's bold indie experiment, #IDARB (It Draws a Red Box) will be heading to Xbox One in February 2015, free for Xbox Live Gold members during its first month on sale, as part of that month's Games with Gold offerings.

Funk-Based Platformer, 'Funk of Titans,' Hitting the Xbox One This Week

Hitting on Friday.

Perhaps you don't know, but within society, there is a hidden struggle. You see, the beloved Funk, the music of the gods, is under assault at the hands of three Titans, Pop, Rock, and Rap. 'Funk of Titans' tells the story of Perseus, son of Zeus and would-be champion of Funk. The game is a side-scrolling platformer set to release on the Xbox One and will feature more than 40 levels of groovy platforming.

'Funk of Titans' is the first console game from indie Spanish developer, A Crowd of Monsters, who is best known for the iOS title, 'Sugar Kid.' The game is due out on the Xbox One January 9th and is priced at $8.99.
