Games. All games, even disc-based games have to be completely installed on the HDD prior to playing them this generation on both the PS4 and the XO. Since games like Diablo III can be 50 GB in size, it won't take long to fill the thing up

Diablo III I think is 25gb -- the Euro version was pushing 50 due to international audio -- and while the games install, I'm glad most have fast mostly invisible installs (D3 and infamous especially)

I haven't done the upgrade yet but will soon. I like that Seagate external drive someone else posted earlier... 2TB.

Pretty much what Decker said. I think everyone including in the XO camp realized when the 500gig drive was announced for both consoles along with potential 40-50 gig size games, it didn't take long to add it up that everyone will be needing additional space. I come from the old school of thinking where the HD tends to work better & smoother when it's around 80% or less capacity. I just hope Sony adds external HD support where we can at least move, store and retrieve data

I may reach a point where I want a bigger HD, but probably not any time soon.
I would suggest deleting the games and installs when you don't plan to play them again soon. If you have disk based games, you'll need the disks to play them even after installing them, so there's no harm there, and all of your digital content will have handy download buttons in your "Library" folder.
The added benefit of this strategy is that your apps bar won't get too ridiculously long.

I figure that the factory HD will hold about 10 full-size games. I don't intend to play nearly that many games simultaneously, so when I get high on space I'll just delete the oldest/least-played game on there.

Hmmm... It takes me a while to finish games but you are correct. Aside from racing games and games like Little Big Planet I'll probably just finish a game then remove it. I also like going back to old games after I finish them to find other achievements/trophies. Decisions, decisions!!! lol I'm also deciding on a second controller and the camera. So many things to think about! lol

I wasnt sure if the question was legit, or if it was an extremely well crafted subtle shot at ps4 for not having any games.

IMO the must have PS4 accessories are a controller charger station and an extra controller.
Corvin, the blue one is out and it looks great.

The option of upgrading to at least a 1 TB HDD is a must IMHO when you purchase the PS4. I went this route as soon as I bought the system and the installation of the HDD and software was easy and painless.
I have yet to buy a controller charger. Is there one that is highly recommended? The extra controller is a given and a must.

Forget a controller charger. Just get a micro-USB cable and plug it into your PS4 and keep a second controller plugged into it. When your battery gets low, switch it out. Easy.

The cord, as I've previously noted, is just a micro-USB from an old work Blackberry. For that matter, you could use the cord that was packed in, and just plug it into any 5V USB wall-plug you have laying around from old phones or kindles or whatever.

Exactly. Worrying about HD space is so last gen.
This is exactly what I do, and based on everything I've read, it's actually better for the batteries to run them all the way down and then fully recharge them. I run a controller for about a half hour after I get the low battery message and then swap it out for the one on the cord.

I wish the PS4 had USB ports in the back too. I have the Gold Wireless headset dongle already plugged in 1 of the ports. I don't like cords hanging out the front either. This is why I like the charger station.

Having your system visible to the public instead of being kept in a media closet is so last gen.

I sit close enough to my TV that I usually just leave my PS3 controllers plugged in all the time. I hope it works the same way with the PS4.
