re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I am not sure when this happened but my son bought the modern warfare advanced warfare on the ps4 under his account. We were both able to play the game. He would play under his account and when he was done, I would log in and play it on my account. Now when I log into my account, the game is locked and says that I have to purchase it or play under his account. I was almost finished with the game. I tried restore licenses and that didn't work. I guess if you buy a downloaded game only that account on the PS4 can use it? Before, we were both able to play any downloaded game and it didn't matter who downloaded it. Somehow, there must of been a playstation update which prevents other users on the same PS4 from playing the downloaded game. The same thing happened with Destiny. My son downloaded that one to. We were both able to play it on our own accounts and now I am unable to play the game. I was at level 29 so it must have been recent that playstation changed it. If this is the case from now on I am only going to buy disk games.

My guess is that his account had your PS4 listed as primary. Now it doesn't. If he started using a different PS4, that is probably the primary now. There can be only one primary. You may have to wait six months before it can be changed back.

If he hasn't used another PS4, go to the Sony Entertainment Network site and check his account. If an unknown PS4 shows up on his account, he may have been hit by a hacker.

Some other kid has likely set their ps4 as your kid's home console.

Even if that's not the case, you should log into his account and set your PS4 as his home console...just as a precautionary measure.

As much as I like the GOW series, I want new titles not remastered series.

That game especially is in no need of remastering. Unlike Metro, GOW III ran very smoothly on the PS3 and unlike GTA V, I doubt increased resolution will do much for the overall experience. Pass.

GTA V also had increased framerate. Also, GOW is played at a distance from the action, so increase in detail is unlikely to have a huge effect. And unlike Diablo III, I don't see them increasing the enemy count or how much gets displayed on the screen at once.

After just finishing GOW Ascension a couple months ago, this series really needs a good kick in the pants to shake things up. The environments and settings are beautiful, but just about everything else is unchanged from one game to the next.

I'm pretty sure the line they fed everyone about how difficult it is to get the new machines to be fully backwards-compatible was pure bullshit, because if they were, it would just keep them from being able to regurgitate old titles as "remasters" like they've been doing.

There's a big difference between reworking the code/assets behind these games and having compiled, completed software playable on another platform.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Haha.

Yeah, the PS3 was one of those consoles with a rather fucked up and odd coding environment. The PS4 is almost like programming for Windows.

Porting is easier but emulating would require a substantially stronger CPU/GPU than what we have now. Plus I'm sure they were already hard at work at a GoW engine for PS4.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

You mean you can't just change the file extension to .ps4?

Not a launch buy, but I'm in later, and converts from 360 are in for a real treat IMO.

Naw, you have to rename like 4 folders, two script files, a .ps3 file and then copy the cracked .ps4 file to the proper directory.

You might as well hold onto it or give it to a friend or family member. Best Buy only gives $1 and GS is even worse at 30 cents.

You all should join me, it's pretty nice out here, if a bit rage-inducing.

Speaking of rage, is PSN down for anyone else right now?

I was trying to download some stuff to my Vita earlier and was having issues logging on. It also logger me out earlier when I was playing The Order, which crashed the game.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

PSN is having a Flash sale right now, with a few games under $1.

The games for the PS4 are:

Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition (highly recommended)
Home (not PS Home lol)
Surgeon Simulator: A&E Anniversary Edition (pretty funny)
Tennis in the Face (like Angry Birds)

All of them worth a purchase.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bat.../1100-6426085/

Rocksteady's first two Arkham games are allegedly getting remastered.

That along with an Uncharted trilogy remaster are my most highly wanted remasters. (I would also like a remaster of Arkham Origins but I can live without it.)

Unlike many people, I don't mind remasters at all. Having all the games on one console means I don't have to have a clutter of gaming consoles. The Arkham and Uncharted games are the only reason I even still have a PS3. If they get remastered, then I can get rid of that console.

I also don't believe the claim that remasters hinder the development of new games. Big development companies don't just have one team working on one game at a time. They have multiple teams working on multiple games.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I love remasters. LOVE THEM. And I don't really give a shit how they affect new game development, if they do at all. Give me the highlights of last gen with a fresh coat of paint for a reasonable price, and I am absolutely in.

My most wanted:

- Bethesda: Oblivion/Skyrim and Fallout 3/New Vegas (these ran like shit on PS3)
- Bioshock 1&2 plus Infinite
- Mass Effect 1-3
- Red Dead: Would be more likely if they'd ever made a PC version
- Uncharted 1-3: This one has to be coming after the success (?) of Last of Us
- Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools/Booty/Crack/Nexus
- Arkham: All 3 would be nice, but I'll happily buy the Rocksteady ones
- God of War: Should include both III and Ascension IMO
- Battlefield Bad Company II and Warhawk: From the never gonna happen files
- Might sound odd coming from me, but I'd buy a pack of single player campaigns from CoD

I'd also like more PS4 cross buy action on some PS3 PSN games, but that's a different list.

Edit: I might eventually end up keeping a non-backwards compatible PS3 around just for upscaled PS2 games, and I'm absolutely OK with that. It was OK then, and it's still OK now.
