Is this going to be like Gran Turismo, where by the time they released an actual game I had long since lost interest?

About the remote: heck yeah they should have had that ready a long time ago. It's annoying to use the controller for a lot of reasons, including the ones listed above; it's easy to pause and play and even fast forward, but you need a couple of button presses (and an overlayed menu) to access the main menu, subtitles, etc. And those triggers means that if you leave it down somewhere and it shifts at all (or drops, or whatever), you'll be fast forwarding or rewinding without meaning to. And while this would be true of a Bluetooth remote too, I can't turn it on with only my Harmony, I need the controller too (this is why I spent a premium for the Harmony adapter for the PS3).

I have the HDMI control thing turned on, but at least in the beginning it didn't work that great... for instance, pushing the left button shifted two slots to the left. Did they fix that?

When I set the controller down, I have to do it very delicately. I also can't leave it on the couch if I want to conserve battery life. I guess if I shift in my seat at all, the controller registers that and doesn't go idle.

It's a driving game from not-Criterion, so yeah...

That's not the way the article reads. It reads like it's about the initial delay, what they did, and why they did it.

Maybe, but I'd rather wait for a good game than be stuck with a bad one.

Just got a PS4 in preparation for Metal Gear Solid 5, and Destiny later this year.

In the meantime, are there any PS4 exclusives out currently I should consider. Killzone any good?

Bear in mind I have a gaming PC and will get that version if it's available over a console release.

If you're getting multiplats on PC, Infamous Second Son is probably going to be the first retail answer. Knack and Killzone were "launchy". Killzone probably has a solid multiplayer, but I can't see playing it over BF4.

I'd recommend getting PS Plus and downloading all of the "free" games and keeping an eye out for Infamous reviews. And obviously, anything that isn't on PC will be solid on PS4.

I didn't quote the article, that's my interpretation of events... It was supposed to be a launch title. Just before PS4 launches, most media outlets suddenly say this game will be delayed until Q1. No other information given. And now on March 10, 4 months after it was originally supposed to be released, the only piece of information we get is "we had to go back to the drawing board".

Q1 ends in about 3 weeks. The fact that there has been no news about this game except for this article leads me to believe we won't be seeing it anytime soon.

Infamous was almost exactly the same situation. Except for the fact that it launches next week, and there's been numerous videos and promo material along the way.

So I just hooked up my PS4 that I got for $277 from AWD, only to find PSN is down for maintenance? Cripes.

The good news is the system was listed as VERY GOOD condition, but came looking brand new.

Was anyone really anticipating DriveClub? It was always 'launch window' fodder. A freebie to play during the dry spell.

Yeah, me too. It might not have been the greatest thing, but it was a FREE FULL NEXT-GEN GAME. Not like there are a lot of others to take its place. I love Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition, but it's not exactly the same thing. If Driveclub were $59.99, I couldn't care less if it were delayed to 2017, but as a freebie, I was certainly interested.

I wonder if Driveclub will go from being free to having some price attached to it with the expected "improvements"?

The full "game" and all game modes were to be free. Not all the cars or tracks were though. The full unlock was to be significantly discounted.

As far as the one year thing, I think that's how long it was going to be offered as a PS Plus Freebie like Resogun, which stays free while the other freebie rotates in and out monthly

Only to the extent that the dev has a really strong track record with Motorstorm and that they brought in a few of the guys from PGR.

During the height of the "console wars" on this forums, it was constantly being touted as a reason to buy a PS4 ("You also get Drive Club for FREE at Launch!!!!!!!!!!!!one!!!!!!").

I have a feeling that this will change in the next 6 to 12 months. A shame Microsoft is so behind. Had they embraced indie and a free game included, the "console war" would be virtually identical.
