I hadn't really checked out the streams until recently, but man they're pretty funny.

The weirdo's have been really active the past two Saturday nights. Tits (fully exposed), bongs, thongs...you name it.

The game streams are really good too. I've picked up some helpful Battlefield tips watching them. And I like watching streams of games I'm interested in but I know I'll never play -- I'm looking at you NBA2K.

Is this real? The gears on the PS4 disk drive apparently shaped like a kissing couple. This reminds me of the hidden cartoon images on various motherboards, cool stuff!

Those are an awful lot of gears. Is that even real and what would all of them be used for?

It's real, and it's basically there to bring the disc into the drive. Probably also helps the spinning and stopping of the disc. The PS3 had a lot of gears as well.

I was there again today and saw the signs still there. I went to the home theater area and asked if they had any in, and the girl working back there smiled and said "yes, we do, we do, we do!!"

I decided not to get one since the Show won't be out til March. But she said they had at least 65-100 left and had a shipment of 500 delivered. She said there were lines out the door on Sunday.

What location was this? The one in Culver City said they were out.

Best Buy currently has PS4 bundles for sale online. I ordered a console with a 12-month PS+ sub (this will push me to 2018 I think ), which was the cheapest bundle available. The second cheapest had an extra DS4, but I figured I could wait and try to get one of those on sale. Applied my gift card and placed my order. No store pickup, of course, but I can wait a few more days. Now I need to figure out what games to get.

Edit: Okay, I'm slightly annoyed. They also have standalone consoles in stock, but those weren't advertised, so I didn't need to buy the PS+ sub at full price. Now I'm not sure if I want to deal with canceling and possibly losing the one I did order. If I weren't using a GC I'd cancel right away, but I'm worried that the GC credit could gum up the system.

Edit 2: I looked at the order on the website, and it listed the console and the PS+ sub as two separate items. I canceled the PS+ sub only, and it seemed to go through without affecting the console. I hope I didn't just screw myself by doing that. The order has the price updated correctly.

It's now at "preparing order" for the console only, so I think it worked.

I've been keeping my eye on Amazon Warehouse Deals and just scored a PS4 the other day for $297 plus tax. Said it was like new just with a damaged box. Hoping it comes through great.

Wow, nice! Amazon Warehouse deals are usually awesome, maybe i'll keep an eye out there too.

So what are the must have games? I'm eyeing (in order of preference): AC4, NFS: Rivals, and COD: Ghosts.

If eye candy is a factor, I'd recommend Killzone over CoD. It's the prettiest next-gen title I've seen, and I genuinely enjoyed it as a game too.

I ordered AC4. I'm not a huge fan of FPS games, and Amazon had the PC version of NFS for $20. If I get sick of AC and the PS+ games, I'll look at Killzone and/or COD.

I'm also looking forward to installing a 7200rpm 750 GB HDD I have been saving specifically for the PS4.

campaign has never been its strongest suit but this is really doing nothing for me and as much of a fan as I was of previous MP I'm not paying for + to play it

Seriously though, the launch line-up is underwhelming to say the least. But once you get your PS4 set up, the live stream feature is great for checking out games you don't have (or didn't have any idea about). I'd much rather watch actual gameplay and see a game for myself, than base my purchase decisions on some crappy reviewer's opinion.

You don't have to set anything up if you want to just watch. Just select the "Live from Playstation" icon in the main menu bar. If you want to stream for others to watch, I think you have to set up an account with Twitch. I haven't done it myself. Then you just click the share button on the controller, and there's an option to stream. That's what I've gathered anyway. I honestly haven't researched it that much. Watching other people's streams is enough for me.

I wouldn't say that. Assuming you don't have a top of the line PC, PS4 versions of Battlefield 4 (maybe by now), NFS Rivals, and Assassins Creed 4 are fantastic.

Assassin's Creed 4 is the best game I have played on this newest generation. It is a ton of fun.

I have BF4. And I love it. I would choose it over any other FPS 100% of the time. But it is still disappointingly buggy, and I certainly wouldn't call it a must-have, especially since the OP stated he doesn't like FPS'.

The other two you mentioned come out with a new version every year. Its like saying Madden is a must-have. Good games? Sure. Must-haves? Meh. This is the first time I've heard someone say NFS was a must-have.
