Titanfall was great hype but a disappointing game that quickly fizzled out along with its community.

For my money (and I'm a big-time game consumer), the XO has 1 1/2 great exclusive games. While that's more than the PS4 has, it's not enough to swing the balance of power between the systems.
I had forgotten Dead Rising 3. And I'd agree that the XBOX has a clear advantage with Forza over Driveclub at this point.

But yeah, I don't think there's a true must have exclusive on either system at this point.

So you assume I'm talking about you and then talk about my "persecution complex", and you presume to know how I view "this whole thing", while simultaneously criticizing me for same. Boggles the mind doesn't it?

The comment wasn't "throwaway". I actually do appreciate a good intellectually honest discussion in this here gaming discussion forum, and Stu's usually good for one.

I think he means of those who are obviously on the Xbox side of fandom. I see discostu as clearly siding with Microsoft on the vast majority of things, to the point that I sometimes feel like he works with them or owns significant stock or something. Chess falls on the other side, obviously. Both will occasionally give concessions to the other side, but it's very clear where their loyalty lies. For most other people, they're generally in the middle or slightly to one side or the other, or only own one system and don't go into the other system's thread anyway.

Or maybe he was dissing you, what do I know?

I didn't "assume" you were talking about me. Your words were "You're the most honest and straightforward of the Xbox fans here, and I respect that." That umbrella covers a whole lot of people who post in this thread, myself included. Your implication was pretty clear.

I know you jest, but I do think PS4 has been getting good mileage out of third party marketing agreements...or at least they've bet on the right horses.

I have all variety of issues with Destiny, but the exclusive content on PS and the white console bundle worked out really well for them. Watch Dogs was huge last summer, GTAV was huge last fall, and Arkham will be huge this summer.

I think PS+ has helped the PS4 dramatically. XO hasn't done a good enough job with Games with Gold, but that's changing in April. In other words, it's not just AAA games that is defining PS4, but the value one gets when taking advantage of things like PS+. This is coming from someone who owns and enjoys both systems.

It's funny because I read that part and thought "oh my, chess is actually giving him a compliment!"

Different perspectives I guess.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

It is shocking to me that anyone would attack one system or the other when neither system has had a home run exclusive at this point. (and I love when people attack one systems exclusives over their own preferred system in a way to justify how great their system is)

Sunset Overdrive was a massive disappointment

Infamous was a massive disappointment.

Halo Master...I should be given a refund..

The Order was only average...

The best games this generation are either on all systems at once, or are remasters. Anyone who attacks the ps4 or xbox one but acts like their favorite system is amazing is full of shit. They are so full of crap I wish their avatars could have retard helmets placed on them so we all know to treat them with kid gloves in the future so they don't end up eating their own shit from the stress of trying to attack one system while gushing over their own.

All that will change anyway in a few weeks...Unless my hype gets out of hand, I just feel like Bloodborne will be the best thing to come out in a long time.

I will say it again: the WiiU has the best exclusive games, and at the rate I play them, certainly their releases alone (well, plus the 3DS) are enough to satisfy my itch to play games (though not shooters). But then I'm some kind of psycho that needs to have all the next gen systems and adds to his considerable, ever growing backlog like a madman. At this point, I won't even be able to play all the PS+ games I've amassed.

Do people really not see how terrible of a job Sony is doing as a whole? It blows our minds at work as to who is buying these things, and why. They better step up their first party games quick, enough people have lost their jobs
Quit your job then!

Agree with everything fox said there...might have left off the whole bit about "retard helmets and shit eating" though!

Every "AAA" exclusive thus far on both consoles (other than maybe Horizon) has been pretty disappointing, but there's also some great content on all systems right now. I actually enjoyed Infamous but didn't feel like I got good value out of it, and I was a little jealous of Sunset Overdrive.

PS4 has something like 65 games over 80% on metacritic, and XO has quite a few as well. So it's not like there's nothing to play.

I've always thought Nintendo was the best publisher/developer in the business, and I don't even know who's second. My personal Top-20 all time would probably be half or more Nintendo titles.

But that tablet and that price...and that Wii salt...just can't do it.

Why does this game have hype? The "Souls" games are pretty terrible and have a very small following. Prepare for another mediocre experience i'm afraid

[facepalm] God damn it Stu! Just when I was defending you and talking about your intellectual honesty!

I don't think the Souls games are for me, but that doesn't make them "terrible" or "mediocre". They are by all accounts phenomenally well made and have an almost rabid following.

Stand by for...umm...rebuttals to your well thought out argument.

Don't expect to be taken seriously after such a statement. Assuming you weren't just trying to make a joke.

Honest and Straightforward must be the equivalent to Fair and Balanced on our little gaming forum. Yeesh.

Not sure what the hubub is about exclusives, seems like both consoles have a combination of mediocre to good but not great titles, with enough to distinguish them on each side depending on what you like.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

So far this generation I have spent more time with GTA Online, Skylanders Trap Team and Rogue Legacy. I have logged at least 30 hours on each one. I can't say that I can name another game aside from possibly Wolfenstein where I have played that many hours on one particular title. I really don't expect the true system headbangers to come out for either console until at least a few years in their life cycle. There will be Bloodborne!

I give Nintendo/Wii U credit for having games that actually focus on Gameplay, and exclusives people actually care about. Unfortunately they just haven't been nearly as fun as they should be, in large part because the gameplay has barely changed in any of their major franchises (controls, gameplay, level design, visuals, settings, etc; are all extremely similar, if not identical, to other entries) (and this is all very much IMO). I feel like technology is leaps and bounds ahead of the games we're making for it right now, creating a massive virtual world? Cool, now give me something interesting to do in it.

Games must have huge followings to be a success. We all know how great of a game Destiny is simply because of the millions that show up to grind on a daily basis.

Wow, you people like the "Souls" games in here? I seriously know of one person who's likes those games. I'm guessing you guys still like Resident Evil games too? My apologies.
