Yeah, Sony didn't really hype it up at all, but obviously some others did in an attempt to pull some ratings. It was a pretty embarrassing special as many videogame specials tend to be, though this was exceptionally bad.

ok, that was the tweet i recall. so yeah, my bad, not exactly Sony, but a guy who has made games nearly exclusively for Sony for years saying that, that's nearly like Sony coming out and saying it.

I went ahead and snagged Contrast, Resogun and Warframe via the web store in order to get them ready for when my system arrives. For some odd reason they charged me for Contrast even with me being a PS+ member. I guess if they "refund" the money into my wallet I'll still have enough to shop around with and get something else.

I was wondering about the fact that they said game audio can be output to the earpiece that comes with it. I was curious if audio from a blu-ray movie could be as well. I'd be more than willing to get some decent wireless headphones later on if I could use them to listen to a movie without bothering anyone else at home.

I should clarify, I did DVR the show, and I watched the salient parts this morning. Obviously I skipped commercials and interviews of people in line.

No, I think an Uncharted 4 reveal is a pretty big deal, and so is the Destiny beta. Those will be two of the biggest games next year, and if that had been a new Gears or Halo announcement, the tone here would be entirely different.

I think that if you were excited for the PS4, the show was no more embarrassing than most other "pre-whatever" hype shows and had a few cool announcements along with a couple of new trailers. But if you were cynical about it, I'm sure it was the worst thing since the Star Wars Christmas special.

But whatever. The console itself seems pretty great, and it has all kinds of potential to grow over time.

The special was a disappointment. No one is burning down Sony because of it.

I would have liked one new IP, I guess, and March for Infamous will be called a delay, but on that one, I say "take your time", because it looks like it's going to be phenomenal. I'm pretty sure Sucker Punch is my second favorite Sony studio, as I've never been a huge God of War fan and I really like the Infamous and Sly Cooper series.

For those who care, Need for Speed is getting what I would characterize as solid reviews. :up:

Thank goodness EA, Ubisoft and NBA 2K brought it at launch. :)

So has anyone checked out DCUO on PS4, or have an opinion on how it shaped up on PS3 after it went F2P? I bought it for PS3 when it first came out and had quite a bit fun for the first 10 hours or so, but was annoyed by the (at-the-time) monthly fee and traded it in to Best Buy while they were still taking it. I never gave it another shot after it went F2P, but am thinking about downloading it for PS4. Given that its 20 GB will probably dominate my crappy internet for a day or two, I figured I'd see if there were any opinions first.

Console reviews at launch do seem a little pointless, their "Performance concerns" had to do with framerate drops in NFS: Rivals. There's going to be hiccups at launch, it happens.

Amazon did indeed fail my friend, who ordered on June 10th. It won't arrive until Monday now, even though the "guaranteed delivery" date was today. He ripped them apart on the phone apparently and got a $300 refund as well as an extra year of prime. He said he's still pissed, but man, I'd totally switch places with him, :lol:.

I think that's referring to how games organize on the media bar thing. Power users will have a ton of games there and it'll be disorganized and unwieldy.

Yeah, I mean, you can go over features (included, and upcoming), as well as the interface and obviously the launch titles, but the rest is just nonsense. Especially then giving it a score of any sort. This is the sort of thing that a buyer should be able to come to their own decision without a stupid number (and I like numbers!).
