I've never had a game breaking bug and I’ve probably put in 200 hours in 4 alone. Get ready for a fun ride.

In 76 the main pull there is playing with friends, seeing others in the game and playing along side them when events pop up like in The Nuke Zone......plus FO4 has some really good DLC....
Yeah VATS is different in every game but 76 because you can’t slow down time in an online game. But slow motion kills and monotone death screams are the best.

Re: Fallout 4

Apparently, sales of Fallout 4 are up 7500% and it's the best selling game in Europe following the tv show launch.

Had an unopened copy of Fallout PS4, and just installed it because of the show!

Question: which mod(s) should I install and how do you do that on the PS4?

You can't install mods on a PS4 as far as I know unless you want to jailbreak your PS4.

Re: Fallout 4

I noticed on YouTube that IGN and all the other gaming channels have released new Fallout 4 videos in anticipation that everyone will start playing after watching the show. I think I'm going to finish Hogwarts Legacy and then I'm going to start Fallout 4.

I have a love/hate relationship with mods. They’re fun to use but they disable achievements which I like to earn.

As mentioned already, Mods don't work except for the PC verion. But frankly just play the game as is, there's plenty to do, see, experience without them. After the update I might actually go back in and just poke around plus there were some unseen areas. I'm almost scared to see what chaos has happened in my settlements since i last played. I've been back in FO76 this week and seems to have a good deal on new players in it.

Every server I've been on I've seen 4-6 players from Level 1 to around 40-50 range. A few times it's been quite a few at events which is great but they're underpowered at some. We had six at the Nuke Scorched beast Event and failed. And any of the events saying Level 50, no-one goes except 1-2. I'm trying to finish one quest so to jump in The Pitt (with a friend) so we can do The Atlantic City.....plus there was a hint the other day another part of the Map might open.....so yea the FO Show seems to have rekindled interest in the games which is good...

Is the update going to be a patch or a PS5 version? Don’t want to download the PS4 version if a new one will be up next week.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a dedicated PS5 version.

Re: Fallout 4

Thanks. That’s what I figured.
Also, for those who got the PS4 version with the PS Plus Collection : The Fallout 4 Season Pass is on sale for $12.24 (65% off), just until 4/24 — just before the PS5 version releases.
The game itself is on sale for $4.99.

Re: Fallout 4

You CAN use mods on console. Not sure why some of you are saying you can't. Skyrim and Fallout 4 have had them for years on the console main menus and it's eventually expected for Starfield.

Also, the next gen update is launching in a few days on the 25th, so some of you may want to wait until then to start playing.

I always under the impression that you had to jailbreak your PlayStation to install mods. When you jailbreak your PS4, you can risk getting banned from the PlayStation network. I didn't realize some games had built-in mod support now.

I think Bethesda is the only company that allows this on consoles. Wish others would adopt this but I get why they don't.

Re: Fallout 4

Yup, Bethesda allows mods for Fallout. I found them, they are right there on the main menu! I won't go crazy, there's a couple of mods for the dog, one makes him do more damage (he's upgraded to like a 5 instead of a 2), and another mod allows you to keep the dog even if you get a new companion. A few others with graphics improvements.

I stand corrected....I totally forgot about this after seeing the screen shot and then remembered that Bethesda allowed these for FO4 Console versions. We didn't really bother with them and just played the game normal. There's a few decent ones to toy with.....from Feb 2024......

Re: Fallout 4

I remember playing through FO4, and about halfway through finding the mod options. I don't think I installed any, since I wanted to play the base game as is, and never got around to doing a replay. Maybe once the PS5 upgrade comes out, I'll give the game another whirl.

Re: Fallout 4

I've been back in FO76 for the past week and have enjoyed it. My coop friend was away and she got back in last night and was rusty to say the least. So we just hit some events. As long as we've been playing I've never ever seen that many players at events...it was pure pandemonium & chaos with bullets, lasers and melee everywhere....and one of the cool fun things is; any level can jump in and I saw level 5 to 650 (hello Destiny2, take note)....past week it's been a noticeable uptick in player and seeing a lot of level 1 to say around 3o so....might explain it then... I would play the game first since a lot in the series is based on things in the game. It might help you understand the series a little more.

So 76 is a MMO but 4 is not? I haven’t gotten into MMOs.

Correct. 4 was a standalone single player game. 76 is a live service game. Not quite a MMO by how most people think of them (in my experience, many people assume anything that is a MMO is actually a MMORPG, which isn't the case.)

Playing the game(s) will help you recognize stuff in the series but it would probably work the other way as well.

Since you live in Vegas, try New Vegas first.

You can get Fallout 1st for $13 a month and do a private server if you want. Lots of other cool perks too. I did it for a month and enjoyed it while I did the major quests.
