Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
While I'm a little bummed about the lack of cars, I guess it doesn't bother me too much. Hell, Forza 4 is the first one in the series that I still can't finish because of how long it is. I have over a dozen hours in it so far and still not even half way through all of the races.

Good news guys! Nurburgring is coming later as paid DLC! Yeah, this definitely isn't a rush job.
Maybe I'll get it when the inevitable "GOTY" edition happens with all of the hundreds of dollars of DLC bundled as one package for $60.

I don't think I've seen even a game from EA that's this devoted to nickle & diming their consumers.

I was talking about the career mode. 326 hours? That seems crazy. I thought I only have one or two more brackets to go through (which I know that could still be a bunch of races), but I thought I was closer to being done than that. If that's the case, I will never finish this game.

It seems that for Forza 4, they actually have the exact opposite:

While I applaud their enthusiasm for creating such a large game, there is no way most people would ever be able to finish that. That is a lot of a game though, a lot.

Yeah, I got that one too. If they keep this up we'll be up to half the number of included cars in Forza 4 by release day.

Gamefly managed to ship me a copy, so at least I'll get to admire the awesome 1080p-ness of the game. Since when it comes to Forza, according to the reviewers, the only thing that really matters is the graphics.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Played it for a few hours, and so far I'm not impressed at all. Graphics are hardly an upgrade, billboard spectators that look terrible (I was playing with a friend, so I had a chance to really look at stuff), crappy lighting, lots of jaggies. The only good thing I'll say is that it looks fluid the entire time. Except for replays, they are supposedly running at 1080p30, but they stuttered a lot from what I saw and it didn't seem smooth.
It's okay so far, but I think you could fool most people into thinking they were playing Forza 4. The handling doesn't feel any better or more dynamic. The one thing I noticed is that the sound is much improved, but it still needs work. The sound cars make when they backfire during shifts (and it's ridiculous how much a car does it) sounds nothing like they should sound, it's way too low and bassy, especially on the higher revving cars. The force feedback in the triggers of the controller is actually pretty awesome, which is the exact opposite opinion I had playing DR3, it just feels odd when firing guns.
My 1 hour review score: Meh.

And I feel the opposite. I think it's gorgeous. I've spent about an hour with it too, and it's just stunning.

*shrug* I had XShagrath over and he felt the same. I just can't get over those horrible billboard spectators, even if I won't notice them while playing. The lighting is just plain terrible, it's like the sun is coming from all directions. Maybe I need to put back in Forza 4 to do a reality check, but I'm just not seeing much of an improvement, besides the background scenery a bit.

I played for an hour or so today. I thought it looked really good, at least the car models did. It's fun to drive as well.
I hate the sunlight effects. I don't need to be blinded everytime I face into the sun. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the helmet my driver is wearing has some sort of tinting on the visor.
Agree the cardboard cutout crowds are awful and distracting. They actually reminded me a lot of Rally Cross on the PS1 while I was playing it.

I joked with Shagrath that they should of added a button to pull down the visor on the helmet. Or use Kinect!
