The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)

<iframe width="640" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/YkmVWwrCWNY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The season pass info for Forza Motorsport 5 just became known, so it seemed like the right time to create a separate thread for the game.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/50-.../1100-6415952/

Microsoft today provided more details on the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass, the digital offering announced last week for Turn 10's Xbox One title that includes access to dozens of vehicles. Chief among the new details is information about pricing, with Microsoft revealing the pass will sell for $50 and feature multiple car packs.

Each Car Pack will include ten cars, and the first will arrive alongside Forza 5 at launch on November 22. Subsequent packs will be available the first week of every month, starting in January 2014 and running through March 2014.

The first expansion, the LaFerrari Car Pack, introduces ten vehicles, including the 950 horsepower LaFerrari that has yet to be released in the real world. The other nine cars will be announced on November 18, Microsoft said.

Individual cars will be available for purchase separately, but Microsoft said buying the $50 pass will allow players to save 18 percent compared to purchasing individually. For the first time in the history of the franchise, every vehicle in Forza 5 will be available in Forzavista mode. This will allow users to explore the inside and outside of every car, Microsoft said.
Forza Motorsport 5 is an Xbox One launch title, available November 22nd. It runs in 1080p/60fps, features delicious baked lighting, and requires both 35GB of hard drive space to install plus a Day One patch of unknown size and strength.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)

This will be the first Forza, I at the very least, won't buy at launch, and maybe not ever. If only it had real-time lighting...

Spoiler:
I still wouldn't buy it.

Fucking MS and their bullshit peripheral policies.

Tell me more about this delicious baked lighting. Is it available in a variety of flavors?

I know it's not as healthy, but I still prefer fried lighting.

I prefer it toasted, and sometimes I'll throw some peach marmalade on there, just because I can.

Wow, only 200 cars, and no Nurburgring? Yeah, between that, still no weather, and no day/night settings, this game just screams "rush job". More reasons for me to pass.

I love how they'll give us 200 cars at launch, but then no problems nickle and diming everyone to death with cars as DLC packs.

When Forza 4 had over 500? Yes, of course. For this type of game, 200 cars is an incredibly low number. I don't even think the first Gran Turismo had that few cars.

edit: GT 1 had only 180 cars (on the PS1 mind you). Forza 1 had 231.

Umm... yeah, for a "season pass". It's still nickle and diming, season passes are even worse, since you are pre-paying for content. You can almost bet they'll release more than one "season" as well.

It's hilarious that you guys are somehow trying to defend it though.

I wasn't defending it... I was just pointing out the fact that they have a fucking $50 pass for car DLC.... that shit needs to die / change

Season - needs to be changed to DLC.

DLC pass would cover all DLC released for the game and should not ever be more than $20.

Quality over Quantity? Bullshit. And charging for that new Ferari day one is crap as well. If Driveclub had actually come out at launch I probably wouldn't even buy this game, but since I feel the need to get something for the One at lauch, I guess I'm still going to get this. Not happy about this news though.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)

For whatever reason, people eat up those car packs. I can say I've bought a season pack for Forza 4, which I regretted, but I didn't bother with anything for Horizons. I only bought the Forza 4 one, because for 3 I found myself buying a couple just for a single car, and figured it would save me money in the end.

I'm amazed after everyone asking for track DLC, they never once did it (except for some launch DLC tracks for 4 I believe).

I wasn't going to bother with GT6 since it doesn't come out until December, but I might have to. At least my Fanatec setup will still work on it, and you can't deny the insane amount of content (1200+ cars, 33 tracks, 71 layouts). Only crappy thing is that a large amount of those cars are PS2 ports, but I never found it that distracting, especially since I always drive using the 1st person view.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter and say it makes sense that there's less in Forza 5 since they're not just uprezzing old models but rebuilding them entirely. And I have no idea how many cars were in Forza Horizon, but with my dozens of hours in that game I maybe only drove 10.

The DLC is still bullshit though.

Yep, the $50 DLC was the last straw for me. Cancelled my preorder several days ago.

I'm not cancelling my preorder of the LE, but I don't see me buying much if any DLC.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)

While I'm a little bummed about the lack of cars, I guess it doesn't bother me too much. Hell, Forza 4 is the first one in the series that I still can't finish because of how long it is. I have over a dozen hours in it so far and still not even half way through all of the races.
