inFamous 1 was horrible in almost all aspects. The graphics and animation were bad and the controls were terrible. I think I gave it about an hour a year or two ago and returned it. Just awful.
Part 2 looked a hell of a lot better when I watched a friend play it, but I never gave it a try. I think it's the only PS+ game I have downloaded, but have yet to fire it up.
Second Son looks like fun.

PS3 has a ton of more new IP's, but in the end the only one I really cared about were the Naughty Dog games. I imagine i'm not alone in thinking similarly; it matters, but probably not as much as some people make it out to be.

I'm gonna have to play inFamous 1 some more, instead of 2 or the vampire one... never did finish 1... but I don't remember any of the issues you are talking about stu.

The first Infamous is good fun IMO. It's not as pretty as 2, but it feels more open, and I loved grinding everywhere and doing acrobatic moves while shooting and smacking bitches around. The only frustrating mechanic was every now and then the climbing would get a little goofy in terms of what Cole wanted to grab vs. what you wanted him to grab, but it wasn't that big of a deal.
As for new IPs, I really appreciate that Naughty Dog didn't just keep cranking out Crash or Jak games, and I'm glad Sucker Punch didn't just keep cranking out Sly games. Insomniac was even encouraged to do stuff outside of Ratchet & Clank.

They asked why I didn't like inFamous and I stated my reasons. Has nothing to do with MS or blowing my load.

yeah, after typing that I realized chess at least had reasoning, kind of, behind his posts
Apologies to chess, but still screw the 9ers.

That made me do a double take as well.
I just finished the game a couple of days ago. Amazing journey. It helps that I found the story engaging... It was well done all around. I'd def put it in my top 5 games of the year if not perhaps of this generation.

I wouldn't call The Last of Us boring, but I also didn't think it was spectacular either. I found stretches of the gameplay a bit mediocre and certainly run of the mill, that's for sure. I recall a few people having that view in the thread discussing the game too. Although obviously the mind of discostu works in mysterious, green, ways.
