Why don't we just have another poll in November, when people have really solidified their choices?

re: What console are you buying at lunch? (September Edition)
The most surprising thing on that list is the BF4 numbers on PS4 vs the Xbox1. Being a team based online game, I would figure at least a 2:1 number in favor of Xbox1. I guess looking at PS3/360 numbers, it actually is 2:1 so maybe a lot of people are not getting either new system.
The surprise for me is Killzone. I had no idea that it had that kind of market penetration.

Not trolling anybody. Just giving the honest answer for why we've had to redo this poll so many times. We're looking for the answer to the same question every time "Has Microsoft finally won people over with X".

Ok... if you say so.
I just want to know what the percentages are for each system, I do the same poll on my group's forum and although they are still Xbox dedicated, there are some getting a PS4 as well.

Shouldn't it be "Has Sony finally won people over with X, or was their perceived boost just a temporary internet overreaction?"

The second iteration is literally called the "Post MS180 edition".
This third iteration should be called the "Post mandatory Kinect and free headset/FIFA edition".
This doesn't have much to do with Sony. If it were about Sony, the first poll would have sufficed because they haven't changed their product or message at all.

In regards to the pre-order sales, don't more people own Battlefield 3 on PS3? I'm not surprised that BF4 is outselling its XO counterpart.
I know VGChartz is only based upon that of physical sales, but there's only a few hundred thousand difference between the 360 and PS3 version of BF3. With PlayStation+ offering it as a free game last month alongside digital download sales, I would assume more people now own it on the PS3.
I just ditched my 360 copy of it considering I own it on the PS3 (thanks PS+) and the PC (thanks Humble Bundle).

re: What console are you buying at lunch? (September Edition)
In the first iteration, I voted PS4 because that's the only console I planned to buy at launch. In this iteration, I voted Xbox One because that's the only console I plan to buy at launch. I'm not the only one in the same situation.
So I guess you can technically say it "doesn't have much to do with Sony," but they're certainly affected by it and the first poll would not have sufficed to paint the whole picture.

Still neither for me. Unless one of you wants to buy me one. I don't even care which one.

PS4 for me. $100 cheaper puts it easily ahead.

Better representation of data I posted earlier, and the first estimate I've seen of actual console preorders:

PS4 vs Xbox One - Pre-Order Totals to August 24th 2013
VGChartz has gathered the pre-order numbers for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The latest data is up to the week ending August 24, 2013. This includes the week of Gamescom, which set a record for biggest gaming trade show in Europe with more than 340,000 visitors. The pre-order numbers are for the US only and give an estimate how each console is doing about three months before release.
Up until the week ending August 24 the PlayStation 4 currently leads in the total number of pre-orders in the US with about 600,000. This is also way up since E3 where there were only 45,000 pre-orders.
