Game is a lot of fun. I played as Luke and my daughter as Leia. I thought she wouldn't be able to pick it up since she just turned seven, but she was getting around pretty well after a while.

Blah. I am having sound issues with the 360 version. The music plays fine but the sound effects and dialogue go in and out.

Well the issues I had with sound went away for some reason. I just finished up the Twilight playset and it was really awesome. I have a lot of side missions to do but I finished the story. Definitely a lot of replay ability to it. I am salivating for Darth maul to come out but I will have to wait until November.

At Target, there is a 30% off Infinity figures on the cartwheel app that stacks with the Star Wars coupons (10 off 50 & 25 off 100) out there this week.
I picked up Yoda, Obi-Wan, Sabine and the Twilight disk pack for just over $31 after the $10 off $50 coupon and the 30% off cartwheel app.

Any playstation folks tried out their timed exclusive Boba Fett figure? Is he fun? I don't think he comes out in single packs until January.
I can't wait until Darth Maul comes out. The fight with him was rather epic in the Twilight set

I'm a huge Fett fan so I'm slightly biased. I haven't unlocked any new skills but his default skills are pretty fun. His basic attack is a blaster (duh!) and his special is a rocket that is fired from his pack on his back ... he bends forward to launch it. He fires up his rocket pack to dodge. The figure itself, as with all of the figures, is really cool and detailed. I really love the art style of these Infinity figures. Definitely pick him up when he is released to the masses.
Darth Maul and Vader are both my son's #1 picks. It's going to be a fun Xmas.

Have you played through any of the play sets yet? I went through the story missions in TotR play set and it was alot of fun. I am gonna go back and work on the side missions. It is FAR superior to any of the marvel ones in 2.0. I couldn't wait for the Rise of the Empire set so i got it off ebay and that should arrive this week.

No, not yet. I dabbled in the ToTR set and have been messing around in the Hub. The kids don't know I have this yet, as it is a gift for them, so I haven't had much time to play it. I'm also trying to finish up the trophies in 2.0 before I start 3.

My Wife and I just bought the Star Wars 3.0 set for the Wii U for our five year old Daughter for Christmas. We know nothing about this whatsoever. Any advice for a newbie?

Prepare to spend a lot of money, lol. We got 2.0 for our kids last Christmas, the starter pack and 2 extra figures. Now we have almost everything (there's still a few 2.0 marvels that I need to round out that collection, but we have everything else from 1.0 and 2.0). It's addicting.

You will be spending some dinero for sure. However, with your daughter only being 5 she may not have the "gotta have em all" mindset. However, if you start playing you may get that mindset
. These types of games used to seem so stupid to me, the toy to life genre, but I am rather addicted to Disney Infinity. I just wish I had a good place to display them. I have them on a closet shelf right now. I open and look at them daily and just get out the figures I want to use during the play session. They are nice looking figures for sure. I try to get them on sale, and I have succeeded with 75% off my collection, but sometimes I just pay full retail.

^My kids are 6 and 5 now, so they were 5 and 4 when they got the 2.0 starter pack last year, and they quickly developed the "gotta have em all" mindset. It's the Hall of Heroes that does it. They go there, and see all the statues they can unlock (with preview videos for everyone they haven't unlocked), and they're hooked.

Wait, so to get 100% of the characters for the keyblade (or the lightsaber from 2.0) do you need the crystal versions of the 1.0 characters too? I see that they're separate entries in the listings.

For the keyblade, I think you only need to collect all the 3.0 branded figures, but maybe I'm wrong about that. For 2.0 there were two unlocks. Lightsabers when you collect all the 1.0 figures, and Luke's Landspeeder when you collect all the 2.0 figures.
Crystal figures (and other alternate characters, like Black Suit Spider-Man) are not included in the numbers required, but can serve as substitutes if you don't have the regular version of the figure (example, you have Crystal Buzz, but not Regular Buzz).
I would imagine that the same will be true for the Light FX figures.

For those with young kids, if they're like mine, having too many figures is sensory overload for them. They constantly, and I mean constantly, swap figures many, many, many, many times during their play session. They'll plop one down and literally 30 seconds later they're grabbing the next one. The game has even frozen/locked a few times because of it (or at least that is what I think). It got to the point where I have them choose 3-4 character that they want to play with for the current session. They still swap those characters out a dozen or so times though.

this is true.I have to tell my 4 year old to pick 3 or 4 and that is it. He still is changing them out on the portal constantly. Drives me nuts. My 360 locked up over the weekend when he switched the figures like 4 times in 30 seconds

Thanks for the comments everyone, I kind of figured it would be making a dent in my wallet. I have a question that no one at Gamestop could answer for me today. Can you use the 2.0 base for the 3.0 game and figures?

For the same console? Yes. I think someone answered that for me earlier in the thread.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker
Yes BUT if you are playing it on the 360 or XB1 then you have to use a base specifically made for a 360 or XB1 as those are not compatible with any other systems. Portals for the WiiU, PS3, and PS4 are interchangeable between those consoles and game versions.

I have $23.00 dollars in Nintendo Shop credit. I could download the game for $19.99 and return the unopened set back to Wal-Mart for a refund.

You can certainly do that, but it wouldn't actually save you $65. You still need to buy figures, game doesn't do anything without figures. Right now the Twilight of the Republic set that comes with it goes for $35.
I'm waiting for Black Friday myself, when starter packs will inevitably be $40 or less.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker
I got my Rise of the Empire playset off Ebay delivered yesterday and played for about an hour. It is alot of fun, I didn't get too far. I finished the first story mission and did several side quests in Mos Eisley (sp?). Princess Leia is more fun that I was expecting. Her being about to call in R2 and Rebel soldiers for help is pretty neat.
So far, I am really thrilled with everything I have seen from 3.0. I haven't played toybox takeover yet since mine is on backorder, but I am sure that is fun too.
I hate having to wait until November for Darth Maul, but it gives me something to look forward too.
