My mistake. Some buddies were talking about it over chat earlier. Must have misread it.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

My son (4 years old) says he wants this everytime we pass by it at Target/Best Buy. I have some reservations as I think he wants it to only play, physically, with the figures and not play the video game.

1. Can or should the figures be played with as a "toy"? I'm not worried about them getting broken, just lost. I assume you need the figures to load them into the game?

2. Is 4 years old too young? We play Kinect together and he does fairly well. I've tried Feeding Frenzy and maybe one other controller required game and he had a hard time as his hands are too small and he wasn't grasping the concept. Haven't really tried it again. I'd imagine he would get better over time.

3. Which is better (eg, easier) for a younger player, this or the Skylander series. He says he likes that too. LOL

Thanks

1. The figures are basically fixed pose figurines, so I guess they can be played with as a toy. You do need the figures, though, and there are cheaper alternatives if you just want a toy... :)

2. It depends. My four year old loves the games, but makes me play them. I've seen others her age handle a controller no problem.

3. Still haven't opened Infinity. Skylanders is fun, but can be violent, depending on how much you're sensitive to that as a parent. From what I've heard, it's a better, if not more straightforward, game, though, plus you can get previous iterations for cheaper. The big draw for Infinity is obviously the character selection.

Went to Target yesterday morning, where there were throngs of people trying to get Xbox Ones, but all I wanted was the series 2 disk set, which they were holding in the back.

When are they putting these out?

It's in the ad (along with the timed exclusive Vanellope), so they're already out, just behind the counter when I went presumably because they only had a small number of them available.

If you're buying the series 2 disc set at Target, don't forget there is a printable coupon at the target website for 5 off 25 good thru 27th.

www.target.com/coupons

Search coupons for Infinity.

Just got an email from Wal-Mart saying Rapunzel is delayed a week to 11/29.

Picked up vannelope for my kids at target.

Same here. I think I'm done. I got the game for $18, bought 1 triple pack so we can do co-op, and grabbed the 3 timed exclusives (Vanellope, Ralph & Rapunzel). That should be plenty for Christmas.

So we cracked this open today to give it a spin. The portal won't stay connected on the 360. Anyone else have this issue? Almost like where the cable connects to the portal isn't making a strong enough connection. Kinda weak.

My son got it for his 360 for xmas and he has been playing it consistently yesterday and today with no issues.

Is your portal on or near anything metal? Because it specifically says not to do that in the instructions. Found this out because our Portal wouldn't recognize the play set statue until we moved it. Works perfectly now.

Interesting. I had it on my drum stool. Its obviously cushioned but the whole base is metal. I'll try something different next time. Thanks, mazje.

Anyone need a Frozen toy box code? Bought my kid the set without the game because she loved the figures, and i'm a sucker to make her happy. First PM + reply to this gets it.

Still no luck on the wonky portal. Of course there is no phone # on the Infinity web site, just a contact form.

Anyone run across a phone number anywhere?

It would probably be quicker to just exchange it at the store.

Anyone else who has this notice that the Vanellope is like the easy mode character. Her secondary cherry bombs take out any enemy in one shot.

Wal-Mart, & can't find the receipt. Apparently they haven't joined the 21st century yet and can't just swipe your card and pull up the transaction. After an hour at the store the other day a manager finally agreed to an exchange but they were out of stock.

Just an FYI, if you know the date you bought it and the method of payment, they can look it up. I had to do that a couple weeks ago with a movie, and thankfully I posted about it in the forum and could find the date :)

The figures and playsets are B2G1 this week at Best Buy, by the way. If you have GCU, that works too.

Grabbed Sorcerer Mickey before work. Apparently its a Wal-Mart exclusive for the time being.

Figs are ringing up B1G1 on amazon right now. Grabbed 4 for $26. Only two left I wouldn't mind snagging are both OOS(Syndrome & Randy).

Doesn't work on a Phineas & Agent P pre-order. Nor does it work on sets/play packs.
