Just curious if you think a nearly 10 year boy would like this game? My son wants it for xmas but they game looks awfully kiddie to me and I am wary of getting yet another game where we have dozens of figurines to buy yet he plays for awhile and just gets tired of it.

He was an early fan of the Skylanders sets and wants Swap Force as well (to add to the multitude of crap around his TV). I also want to get the best price on this if those of you think it is a worthwhile game for a 10 year old boy. What do you think a starter set may drop to around the holidays since it has been out for awhile?

So far Infinity and Swapforce are both $37.50 on BF at TRU.

I think he so, there are the game elements, but also the toy box mode. Seems like once kids get out of the cars/toy story mode they go right into the minecraft mode, and Toy Box mode is similiar to minecraft (Building things correct?)

If there is anything in it like Minecraft, my kid would be very happy. He loves that game.

Damn, that is a great price for both of them. I hope Amazon price matches. I don't know if I could bear having to go to TRU on a BF.

I haven't played much of the game except for the Pirates playset. I would say the gameplay of that one in some ways reminded me of a Lego game.

Can't comment on the gameplay of the others or the toybox.

Thats my basic understanding of the Toy Box mode. I hear ya on Minecraft, my wife teaches 5th grade (so 12 year old boys), and all the boys talk about minecraft and watch minecraft videos.

This was an exclusive to D23. It's going to be released to the public with a slight variation (I think the symbols on the hat will be white instead of metallic). It goes on eBay for quite a bit, as it's still not available to the public yet.

Am I missing the joke or did you mean to link to the explicit version of an Eminem album? :D

I think you might mean http://www.amazon.com/Exclusive-Sorc...dp/B00FZ12F34/

My 11 year old daughter loves tooling around with the construction elements in the toy box. According to her when she talks about the game to her friends the boys think its cool. My younger kids (5 and 3) both like to run around as characters for about 5 minutes before they want to switch to another level

This is a pretty good way for someone to get most of the figures (and an early release Sorceror's Mickey) in one shot. I'm sure the various B2G1F offers and black friday sales may trump this overall, and I'm sure someone will order it thinking it comes with the game (it does not), but otherwise great for anyone who hasn't started collecting.

Isn't there a set of the non exclusive disks coming out too?

Is someone actually doing b2g1 on BF? I know GS is doing b1g1 but I didn't want to deal with the crowds so I just bought Woody and Jack Skellington at samsclub for $9 after their automatic $2 coupon.

Series 2 discs come out later this month.

I meant the B2G1F offers from before, I think both Target and TRU had various offers like that. I haven't seen any deals besides the starter packs for BF, though.

That is a good deal. You can get Disney Infinity Starter set for 34.99 during black friday, and get that Infinity Bundle and then you are pretty much set (well other than getting the lone ranger set).

Walmart I think was having a B1g1 50% off. The play sets were being discounted 10-15$

Gamestop's gonna have the individual figs as B1G1. If it's online, I'll probably snag Woody and Jack, as those are the only two I'm currently missing, and I've been waiting on a good deal for them.

^^ I saw both those figures at Target yesterday. I thought they were store exclusives, no?
