That's another thing that pisses me off - just pick a fucking day and tell us when the console is coming out. We are less than 6 months away. They should know at this point. Be confident and stop waiting for the other guy or whatever you are doing.
Another point for Apple - when they do announce a product, they usually say exactly when you can get it.

Apple gets away with announcing specific release dates because they typically don't announce more than a month ahead of launch. It's easy to give a firm date when the product is already manufactured in mass and being shipped. One of the times they did announce a product earlier, the iPad, they gave a vague "late March" release date, and ended up missing it and releasing in early April.

Still just a PS4 at launch. $900 is too much to spend on just consoles in one year, let alone one month, and while I'm glad MS is changing course, the fact they were so willing to implement such anti-consumer policies to begin with means I won't be rewarding them so quickly. On top of that, it still has forced Kinect and costs $100 more than the PS4, and PS+ beats Xbox Live hands down.
At this point, if I do get an XO, it will be after a price drop, and once there is a decent library of exclusives. The PS4 is going to get all of my non-exclusive game business. This generation, that distinction went to the 360.

I posted this in the X1 thread, but it's probably more relevant here as we discuss both consoles and as a predictor of the quality exclusives the two consoles will get.
Metacritic scores for exclusives on PS3 and 360 that are rated over 85% (360 games in bold):
Uncharted 2: 96%
Last of Us: 95%
LittleBigPlanet: 95%
Metal Gear Solid 4: 94%
Gears of War: 94%
Halo 3: 94%
Gears of War 2: 93%
God of War 3: 92%
Uncharted 3: 92%
Forza 3: 92%
Killzone 2: 91%
LittleBigPlanet 2: 91%
Forza 4: 91%
Gears of War 3: 91%
Halo Reach: 91%
Forza 2: 90%
MLB: The Show: 89% (11, 12 & 13 avg.)
Demon's Souls: 89%
Ratchet and Clank - Tools: 89%
Fable 2: 89%
Left 4 Dead: 89%
Left 4 Dead 2: 89%
Uncharted: 88%
Halo 4: 87%
Heavy Rain: 87%
Ratchet and Clank - Time: 87%
Resistance 2: 87%
Resistance: 86%
Valkyria Chronicles: 86%
All retail disk games...everything else I could think of fell at 85% or below. Also, it was pointed out to me that I missed a couple of 2005 360 exclusives (CoD 2 @ 89% and GRAW @ 90%) that were out before the PS3 launch. My instinct is that had the PS3 been out they'd have been multiplatform.
Still, I may have missed something and am happy to edit.

"Titles that scored higher than 85% after the release of the PS3 that were released on retail disc."
Still have no idea how Forza 4, God of War 3, Uncharted 3, Killzone 2, either Little Big Planet, either Resistance, Halo Reach or Last of Us got ratings that high.
You also forgot the first Gears of War. Or does that one also not count since it came out 3 days before the PS3 launched?

As for the other two (CoD and GRAW), both of those franchises have always been multiplatform, so it would be misleading to put them on an exclusives list that's intended to be predictive. Also, both were on PS2...granted different versions.
Speaking of predictive, I predict Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable.

See you have a valid point in Playstation has more decent original IPs. The main issue with them is many are games you quickly burn through and never touch them again. Microsoft has managed to come out with a few key IPs that get played until their next iterations are out. There aren't really any PS3 exclusives I can say the same for outside of The Show and maybe Gran Turismo, neither of which I play so I can't be certain on that.
But looking at that list I now remember why most of my gaming was done from smaller digital downloads

I pre ordered both, but I will probably sell the Xbox on Craigslist and try to make a hundred bucks.
Or maybe vice versa.

Other than Warhawk, almost all of my online multiplayer this generation has been on cross-platform games, and I think that's true for most people whether they are into CoD, Battlefield, SF4, Burnout, Assassin's Creed...whatever

Re: What console are you buying at launch? (Post MS180 Edition)
You kind of proved my point there. Mine was mostly CoD, Halo and Gears. I hated Warhawk with a passion
wasn't bad at it though.
Uncharted 2's multiplayer was a joke, Uncharted 3s wasn't much better, though to their own credit, the gunplay in both games was the worst part of them, and it doesn't improve in multiplayer. Last of Us'sssess I haven't tried yet.
Killzone was supposed to take on Halo, Resistance was supposed to take on Gears, neither did.
etc; Sony needs to find a way to make good multiplayer if they're going to include it.
You know I think I know what it is. For whatever reason the Playstation 3 seems more like a traditional game console, a wide variety of titles that are full, involving experiences. The Xbox 360 on the other hand was more like an arcade machine, sure there were plots, but the focus was the gameplay - basic, fast paced and fun.
Which makes sense for me. I would have been a hardcore PS3 gamer in my younger days, now I like games I can turn on for 30 minutes and turn off, no "slow" sections in the games or anything. I guess I should note my favorite games on the Xbox 360 really are the arcade titles - I loved Super Meat Boy and Splosion Man. Having Ikaruga back again was amazing. I just found out Radiant Silvergun was added on there and will be buying that. When everybody was playing Oblivion I was still rocking Geometry Wars.
They were all arcade games that catered to old school gamers, some would say casual, but they were challenging so it was more like traditional arcade with a focus on gameplay above all else (easy to play, difficult to master). The ADHD 360.
I will say they rocked it out with God of War, I find the games highly repetitive now but that has some high quality gameplay. Uncharted, Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid I really liked (Uncharted 2 was amazing) but the gameplay in all of them was lacking. I would say Ratchet and Clank fits in there but it too was just so damn repetitive, and I got sick of 3D platformers 15 years ago.

The Little Big Planet games have awesome multiplayer, bit different than what you're thinking of though.

I do give credit there, LittleBigPlanet's multiplayer was well implemented. Didn't care for the games all that much but it was definitely a good implementation of co-op.

As I said in the XO thread, now that I see a list of exclusives, the PS3 had a much more varied and interesting set of exclusives, so that absolutely cements my decision to get a PS4 and consider an XO down the line.

PS4 at launch
XO in a year or two once some of my "family members" build up a nice library of games for me to share from. Oh, wait...

Seen in Europe. Take it for what it's worth. We saw an incorrect Best Buy Diablo III display last year

My attitude has changed from getting a PS4 near launch and a likely no-buy of the XBONE, to getting a PS4 at launch and an eventual purchase of an XBONE after a few price drops.

As of now, I would buy the XBox. I have a 360 now and like it and have some features set up with media player that I assume will work better with the X-Box than the PS4.
I would most likely buy the Kinnect anyway, so that does not concern me.
I mostly play sports games, so the main benefit to the PS4 would be that the baseball game is better. Given that, I will end probably buy NCAA/Madden on the 360 and buy the new gaming system after they are both out for a few months and see if there are any major issues with either that concern me.

probably Xbox One, but still not sure. Have Live for next three years anyway.
