Why would you not prefer 1080p to 720p? The increase in clarity and detail is substantial in a video game. And it's not like I won't play games at less than 60fps, but I'm a little concerned the consoles aren't even out yet and Ubisoft is already aiming for 30fps. 30fps and 720p is standard on the current consoles. They should be targeting 1080p and 60fps - those two things are more important to gameplay experience than whatever marginal increase in polygon count or texture detail they have planned instead. ... ha |

Re: Watch Dogs
Pretty sure that's just the European release date, which is a week after the X1. Here in the real world, it should be out on the 22nd, no?

Watch Dogs has been delayed into spring 2014
http://www.vg247.com/2013/10/15/watc...o-spring-2014/ Watch Dogs has been delayed into spring 2014, Ubisoft announced today. The delay includes all versions, per the following statement from the Watch Dogs team: “Our ambition from the start with Watch_Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014. “We know a lot of you are probably wondering ‘why now?’ We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. We thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the way you respond on the web, at events, press conferences and during other opportunities we have to interact. Your passion is what drives us. “We can’t wait to see you in Chicago next Spring. We are confident you’ll love this game as much as we love working on it.” |
Re: Watch Dogs
Well what do I replace with this now....

Re: Watch Dogs
shit, so only DR3 is appealing to me for Xbox One launch. Oh well.
|
Re: Watch Dogs
Well, that pretty much kills any interest people had left in this game. After GTA V this game looked less and less appealing. I'd be willing to bet it will sell around half of what it would sell launching next month. Sad, I was originally anticipating this game quite a bit.

Re: Watch Dogs
Smells like a marketing decision.
If it's really a delay for quality, I respect that, but I think it probably has more to do with GTA V and their own AC4. There's too much open world this fall, and GTA V sucks all the air out of the room. Plus they will probably move more copies of AC4 this way. In spring, Infamous is the only open-world to compete with on PS4 and nothing on XB1. Regardless, it stinks for those who were looking forward to it. |

For me it means even less interesting games for the new consoles.
OTOH Ryse will sell like pancakes. ;) |

Taking it out of launch bundles is going to hurt them, yes. But it'll sell well in the spring when there's nothing else to play.
And yeah Infamous in the PS4. |
Re: Watch Dogs
hopefully the people who ordered a watch dogs bundle don't get fucked here. apparently ubisoft isn't really providing much information to the gaming websites as to what is going to happen for the people who did.

Re: Watch Dogs
Amazon says you get your system w/o the game.
Gamestop says you can keep your bundle and get the game when it comes out, or switch your bundle. http://kotaku.com/amazon-says-they-p...ndl-1445846459 |

The WiiU is the red headed step child around here. The few of us that do own it will likely be buying Watch Dogs on a different platform. You and Gizmo might possibly be the only people buying it for the WiiU. Mario will be good but doesn't really help someone wanting a hot title on their new console. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I just added AC4 to my cart at Amazon. That'll hold me over.
|
Re: Watch Dogs
I don't blame them if it really is about the quality of the game.
