Re: Watch Dogs

What the hell was wrong with V?

The driving seems fine to me for the type of game it is.

That's awesome. I'm hoping to have some sort of the same experience here. I know they can't/didn't recreate every building, but because Chicago is made up of a bunch of very unique neighborhoods I'm hoping to have fun just exploring.

There is a slight chance my condo building is in the game as it's a registered historical landmark.

Yeah, what the hell are you talking about? V was one of the best, if not THE best, urban sandbox games ever made. I'd be stoked if this was half as good.

I have to assume he meant to type IV instead.

Re: Watch Dogs

That's a bummer. I take it you don't like it much, shea? Because it looks like the sort of game that would appeal to me.

It's fun but not amazing.

Re: Watch Dogs

lol it's nothing personal, V was a huge let down for me, three main leads suck, game is just well...boring to me.

dsa shea - that's actually good news if it's like IV as IV is my favorite GTA title.

Exact opposite for me, GTA IV put me to sleep, V was a lot of fun.

Re: Watch Dogs

Ugh, I can already see myself wasting a ton of time in this game. I have played for about 4 hours now and MAYBE 30 minutes of that was story missions. I just keep running around scanning people to steal money and beating up bad guys. There are so many dots on the map of crap to do that my ADD kicks in and I run all over the place.

Side note: I'm playing on Xbox One and the little IGC cutscenes look horrible. I'm guessing they are ripped from the 360/PS3 versions of the game. Screen tearing galore. The actual FMV's looks great, and the gameplay itself is fine.

Re: Watch Dogs

I'm only an hour or so in and am liking it a lot so far. I think the interface flows quite nicely with the gameplay. And thumbs up to Best Buy with the preorder bonus, I got the email right after I picked up the game.

on the first part, we'll have to see on the sales.

On the plus side, glad to hear it's entertaining.

Re: Watch Dogs

I like the game and I hope that it is the start of a series where we will see improvements just like GTA, AC and other series. Now, I'm not sure what else they can put in the next game that you can hack as it seems they have already covered the entire spectrum.

This is exactly what I have done but for about half that time. I have busted 4-5 criminals and stolen close to a hundred grand from various victims. I've also picked up a few loot drops from listening in on criminal conversations.

Bought from PSN on PS4, and right as I am leaving the stadium the game begins to install. Currently going slow as hell. Others in this thread talking about it. UGH

Re: Watch Dogs

Maybe 4 hours in...game is fantastic..

Problems. Graphics are not that good in the daytime. Police Chases seem unfair. Online games are glitched and favor the host way too much...

That being said, the stealth overtaking of compounds (taken from far cry 3) the use of your phone to take enemies out (taken from splinter cell) are amazing. Also, this is the most alive open world game I have ever played. Even the gta's have never done such a good job of making you feel like the npc characters are living breathing people.

On top of that many of the side missions are actually fun, and trying to figure out how to get into areas by climbing and jumping and hacking can be a game by itself (a bit of portal puzzle like situations)

Easily worth the purchase in my mind.

Conversely, the Xbox One version installed more quickly than any game I have played. It also allowed me to start playing after only about 30 percent install.

Re: Watch Dogs

I played the spider tank sequence. Holy shit was that fun and challenging. It took me a couple times to finally get through all 15 objectives, but it was worth it. If you see a shady looking guy on the street that asks you if you want to go on a digital trip, do it

Re: Watch Dogs

Wow, my Best Buy order shipped on the 23rd, is currently in Fontana CA some 220 miles away and according to the website, they're giving me an estimated delivery date of June 3rd? WTF? Did someone hack UPS?
I hope that's really, really wrong. I want to play this game.

HA! I haven't even looked at the trophy list yet.

So I had a good say at Target. I got the next to last PS4 copy they had (plenty of all other versions). Got My PS+ Card, so now I'm good until July 2016. Got my 10% discount from Cartwheel via the printout, and I even got the $5 gift card from reserving the game back in November (when I bought one trying to get that Buy 2 get 1 free coupon to print). and everything I bought fit on the gift card I got last week for selling off 3 games.

For those that claim that AC4 hasn't dropped, it's currently $24.95 on PC: http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Cree...ins+creed+4+pc

Re: Watch Dogs

played for 5 or so hours and am not highly impressed
the game (like many open world games) kind of suffers from the opposite of inFAMOUS ... instead of there being too little to do there is too much to do ... and while I know you can pick and choose it still is almost overwhelming (even down to the controls and menus, etc)

as the story began I tried to focus on it but instead I was bombarded with all these NPC profiles .... it was just overkill so much that I didn't bother reading any of them and they just distracted from the storytelling

the hacking is getting monotonous with no consequences for doing so

I actually am not bother by the driving, it certainly isn't perfect but isn't as bad as it was made out to sound

graphics are not impressing me at all especially the cut scenes as noted above

I'll continue to put more time into the game but thus far this is a major disappointment

ps. I was waiting for my challenger to barf in the drinking game contest to no avail

I just did it from the phone.

But yeah it was great. The game is a lot of fun. I'm not even noticing any tearing or bad graphics. Oh and the water and flames look great.
