Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Grrrrr I got the premium casino and the Indian and Lisa are the only two characters in the quests, thus delaying Lisa calling in turkeys every 4 hours.

But on a good note, my Squidport is stating to look AWESOME, thanks for tapping on my tiles everybody!

Back in the ios Buddha glitch days, I did get Squeaky Voiced Teen, but also a whole lot of garbage, and I also messed up the glitch enough to cost me a number of donuts. Based on the return from that and the weekly mystery box (which has netted me a couple donut scores), I haven't wanted to spend on any other buddhas or boxes.

a 4 hour task to collect a turkey. You have to do it 10 times to complete part 9 of the quest line.
Seriously, that's like

If it's update 124/124, I don't know what it does, but I've downloaded it like five times in the last few days (twice this morning).

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I finished the Thanksgiving quest. At least, I think I did, because I got this reward:

Spoiler:
A permanent turkey that dances and gobbles when you click on it. It looks like the ten turkeys that went *poof* this week.

It's neat, and I can't necessarily complain about what I get for free, but it's not the greatest reward. Perhaps I need to remember this is a mini-update quest, not a major one and that's the way the game rolls.

I actually saw
Spoiler:
the poofing guys and squished a few before I even knew they were part of a quest. I finished Lisa's 10 rounds of four hours then wondered why I still wasn't done then saw the turkey part. I had to find the last couple and squish them before I moved on.

I've got a boardwalk tile up, if you would like to come tap it. Tappa tappa tappa.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Heads up for the holiday... There's a couple of short events unlocked for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Thanksgiving

Spoiler:
Three free donuts for Thanksgiving and a small five-part Homer quest.

Black Friday

Spoiler:
Shopping quest for various Springfield-ers. Gil returns with a special bundle offer of the Springfield Sign, Duff Brewery with Duffman and $50k in-game cash for 300 donuts. If you already have those items, no visit from Gil.

Also any ongoing Thanksgiving quests and limited items should now wind down on December 3rd. The new Thanksgiving and Black Friday events may be limited to just Thursday and Friday.

I've decided that if any of us accidentally tap our own tile, the universal post to make here is "UGH."

And with that...

UGH.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've decided that maybe it isn't worth my time to be tapping on dead towns when I can get so much more XP in ones that have tiles. If I had time to hit every neighbor every day it'd be different, but I don't. I guess I can skip Spatula City for a couple days.

My Krustyland hasn't crashed lately so I wonder if that update helped.

I might consider going through people's towns and if they look like they haven't tapped in a while to add some sort of asterisk or other marker on the OP to help people save time / effort. Thoughts on that?

But, but... don't you want a tenth spatula for just a penny?!

Sorry to hear that. See you in two days!

I actually cleaned my Squidport. It doesn't look that appealing, but it's harder to tap the tile by mistake now. Basically it's empty all around the entrance, around the tile.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

That's what I was trying to do. Was creating a little bumper car park above the tile instead of having a cash-producing building there and a quick click later... UGH.

Yeah, my heart rate goes up every time I go near that place, trying to clean, or setup stuff.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've seen some people here tapping on my tiles, but when I go to other people's I seem to keep missing theirs. Can someone please explain what this is exactly so I can help you guys out too?

When you visit another town check to see if they have a tile (or handshake) up at their Squidport. Tap it, collect XP, leave, go back and repeat to get three times the major XP. Your friend only gets one extra tile, not three, but still that's a lot of XP for each of you.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I have so much space on my boardwalk now that I realized it'd be easy to move the shop that used to be right next to the entrance to avoid tapping the tiles by mistake. I haven't had any problems since adopting the strategy of leaving two or three tiles up, though.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth your time. It'd take me more time to come back and read this thread then to tap the town and see it's dead. I recognize a number of them already anyway.

I always worry about that two when I try to tap away excess tile taps.. I've been leaving two there at all times so that if I accidentally tap it, when I don't mean to, I should have one left to be in place that I can then be more careful about.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Krustyland is back to crashing constantly.

Since I don't have either the Springfield sign or the Duffman Brewery, I was offered the Gil deal of both for 300 donuts (regularly 360). I'm tempted since I know the sign is a big multiplier, and I never bought anything for Halloween. That runs through the weekend.

Tempted by the Cracker Factory as well so I can get the character and the food trucks.

I believe you have to do it on Origin's online site, not within the game.

The Origin website, last I looked, lets you block people. Apparently, that will remove the town. Installing the Origin program to your PC will let you 'unfriend' your Origin 'friends'.

I installed the program as it seemed cleaner to remove people rather than block them. The initial install added itself to Startup, but I removed it. Subsequent updates haven't reinserted anything into Startup.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If you have an iOS device is even easier, to remove friends. You just go to your friends and there's an option to remove them from there.
