What do I have to do to get Apu's new outfit? I tap on him and it doesn't give me the option.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm back in town after two weeks away from the computer and another self-imposed week of hiatus.

Did my best to save up a lot of cash but I ended up blowing it all on Squidport, Skinner's House, Military Antiques, Fat Tony's Compound, and some other stuff. I don't know that I'll ever get to the fun stuff from the Monorail episode because I simply don't have the patience to build up that much cash!

Squidport is super cool! Surprised so many people want it to be faster. Maybe we're remembering the frantic atmosphere of the last few days of Whacking Day and what a limited-time event is like as opposed to how slow a regular part of the game can (should?) take.

I'll take a look at some of the last couple of pages here and try to update the OP with people's user names in the next few days or so.

Is there any sort of benefit to having the town spread out with roads, other than having it look like an actual town? Mine is looking more like a compound with a main street, at least compared to the rest of my neighbors. It does seem easier to hunt down Sideshow Bob with such a dense area.

Finally got 30 donuts doing the Homer Buddha trick. Out of the 20 times I've done it I've only got 30 donuts and Hans Moleman. Talk about time consuming for little pay off.

yep, my budda trick has been pretty crappy lately too. Finally hit 60 donuts 3 times yesterday, but no 150 in a week or so :(

Yeah it is a slow way to get donuts, I always do it when I am watching TV, you've got to multitask!

dogmatica is back! Er, well, the user who used to be dogmatica...

The slowness is frustrating. It takes six solid days to finish each task, and that's assuming you start each tile right after the last one finishes. At least we have the Independence Day diversion to work on now as well.

Probably depends on how much stuff you have. I have a fair number of houses that I separate with roads rather than house-farming.

Sideshow Bob is a lot tougher the bigger you get.

I still have gotten no donuts. Plenty of dumpsters, fences, trees, and mystery boxes, and I bought another orange tree by accident. So far the trick has generated a net loss of 60 donuts for me.

Man.. a couple of the towns, from people here, have huge Squidport areas already. With all the buildings, premium buildings and things, and huge areas. How did you all get that so fast? I've been pretty faithful with my playing each day and I'm in the middle of building the 21st boardwalk piece. Don't plan on spending donuts for anything. Maybe thats how they did it?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

DONUT DISASTER!

I noticed my donuts had severely dropped, so I checked my inventory and the last four items--all trees and fences--I had "rejected" using the glitch system were there. :gah: Since waiting three seconds was shutting off my device before I could see the item, I had changed my cadence to two seconds and it seemed to be fine, but after rebooting my device I never thought to check my donut count.

I guess I can't really blame EA because I was trying to game the system, but over multiple dozens of tries they just get giving me the same garbage over and over, never any donuts. And now I don't even have enough left from my last Gil buy to get Lincoln's cabin if I want it. :brickwl2:

Tile 22 will be done tonight. I haven't used donuts. I probably have lost a total of 12 hours(sleeping, away etc) of building time on the squidport titles. I don't buy donuts. So you are on pace.

I think the game started on itunes and didn't come to android until whacking day. Or thats when I downloaded it. So apple users have the halloween and xmas stuff. I'm on level 32(out of 30, leveling up and getting donuts but no new missions etc).

Yeah, I just started tile 23 this morning with no donut rushing, but also no wasted time since I'm on a good 6 a.m./6 p.m. cycle.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm behind on tiles because for the first few days I didn't understand I had to build them by tapping the Squidport entrance. But again, knowing that it's here to stay permanently and it's supposed to take a while is keeping me calm about the whole thing. That said, every once in a while I'm asked to build Squidport buildings I have no room for and that's frustrating.

Canis Firebrand 07-01-13 12:23 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah.. I don't mind the slower pace, for the most part. I think I have been able to fit all the buildings on the tiles I have so far. My issue is that the squidport quests are tied to building and number of tiles. I'm in part 14 and it wants 25 tiles (I have 20 with 21 being built) and the Tattoo building (building already completed).

Some great Squidports out there, you guys! Lateralus, discostu1337, and davidh77, yours looks really good and I like the simplicity of yours, Jcheckel and JasonF. I'm getting good ideas from yours too, Adboy151.

Me007gold, how did you DO that?!

feenst, your fence yard is... interesting.

Also, stp115, putting Flanders' house right next to the church is hilarious!

That was the one that struck me as the most impressive. Huge boardwalk area, all performers, extras, buildings. Very nice.

Thanks! I believe I have all of the buildings and performers. Now I just need about 2x the tiles to actually make it look nice...just a boring rectangle right now :(

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I started out building my billboard straight into the water, but I've decided that I can better fit in buildings when I build along the coast no more than two tiles deep. It still needs some work--the only extra I've bought is the lemonade stand, and I just pulled that out of storage--but now I have a little space to walk whereas it had been buildings completely crammed together.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

My secret to a large Squid Port is donuts, donuts, donuts. I got on a pretty good pace keeping up with the buildings by purchasing the dock piece when it got down to 12 hours. Now that I'm up to 2 and 1/2 days and I have all the buildings I'm not buying anymore dock pieces. I need to start saving up for Krustyland, looks like you need to spend a lot of donuts there as well.

I need to check out some of these other Squidports as I have not visited another town since the snake eggs.

Nice! I haven't yet.. I have placed about 10 bets so far and no win. I do it once a day, twice if I catch it in time.

Got an All American Apu glitch. Nobody has the option to buy fireworks. I have 2 kwik-e-marts. I put one in storage. As soon as Apu is done with his profit mission, I will see if I can buy fireworks with the other residents, if not will put that kwik e mart in storage too then take it out and see if it makes a difference. According to TSOtips, I'm not the only one with the glitch.
